I’ll very likely be breaking a few rules as I get to know the ropes :grimacing:

Welcome to the forum Smiff! :+1:
Origami was very popular during the 70’s as I remember.
I managed to fold a decent swan but my praying nun was appalling, she looked like she’d been involved in some kind of dreadful accident! :astonished:

welcome Smiff

Hi Chilliboot, I’ve only recently started doing it so I know what you mean :laughing: My recent attempt at a crow had one leg longer than the other. Yeah, buying the paper’s not so easy I’ve found as it’s not so popular now. Helps focus my mind when I need a break from thinking too much.

Hi Mr ‘Contemporary’ Smith :blush:It’s a rebellion for my younger self against my Dad who’d tell me off for not being able to pronounce my ‘th’'s.

Hello :wave::slightly_smiling_face:

Chat away, Smiffy ! How about you do or did in your job? Mine was electrical engineering …

I started an electrical (installation) apprenticeship when I left school. Soon realised I’d probably electrocute myself or somebody else so didn’t complete it. Was a registered nurse, working in theatre recovery and endoscopy until I managed to retire early. Adapting nicely to not working now. How about you?

I was an electrician but I’m sure taking care of people in hospital was a much more rewarding experience.

Thanks Diane :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

Yeah, best part of the job was making patients feel safe and looked after. Get anxious myself when I’ve been a patient so always wanted to help alleviate that in others, and making that difference was rewarding. Doing a good job for customers as a sparky and being appreciated I’d imagine gave you a similar feeling.
