Hi All. Looking forward to connecting with like minded people for a laugh and a chat.
you’ll get the memo, no laughing, connecting or chating, matron will see to that
I’ll very likely be breaking a few rules as I get to know the ropes
Welcome to the forum Smiff!
Origami was very popular during the 70’s as I remember.
I managed to fold a decent swan but my praying nun was appalling, she looked like she’d been involved in some kind of dreadful accident!
welcome Smiff
Hi Chilliboot, I’ve only recently started doing it so I know what you mean My recent attempt at a crow had one leg longer than the other. Yeah, buying the paper’s not so easy I’ve found as it’s not so popular now. Helps focus my mind when I need a break from thinking too much.
Hello Smiff.
I see you use the traditional spelling.
Hi Mr ‘Contemporary’ Smith It’s a rebellion for my younger self against my Dad who’d tell me off for not being able to pronounce my ‘th’'s.
Hello
Chat away, Smiffy ! How about you do or did in your job? Mine was electrical engineering …
I started an electrical (installation) apprenticeship when I left school. Soon realised I’d probably electrocute myself or somebody else so didn’t complete it. Was a registered nurse, working in theatre recovery and endoscopy until I managed to retire early. Adapting nicely to not working now. How about you?

Hi Smiff & Welcome To The Forum
I was an electrician but I’m sure taking care of people in hospital was a much more rewarding experience.
Thanks Diane
You’ve come to the right place Smiffy, Welcome…
Yeah, best part of the job was making patients feel safe and looked after. Get anxious myself when I’ve been a patient so always wanted to help alleviate that in others, and making that difference was rewarding. Doing a good job for customers as a sparky and being appreciated I’d imagine gave you a similar feeling.
I’ll do my best
You’re Welcome Smiff
