Goode day Rick matey and welcome. I used to live and work in Yorkshire, but a long way to the West of you up in the moors (Batley, Dewsbury, Huddersfield areas).
I’m an Essex boy originally - moved to Hull 40 years ago (next Tuesday) - still have the Cockney accent though
Me too Rick matey, my folks upped sticks and moved to Brighton when I was still an infant, (that was more than 60 years ago) but I still retain my ‘cockney’ accent.
So, although I watch Hull city these days, my heart is with the MIGHTY Orient
Not into football Rick matey, not my sport - much prefer ‘sports’ in the warm and away from getting wet and/or cold. Consequently my ‘sports’ are darts or snooker - they’re also the only sports where it is possible to get a ‘proper’ drink whilst playing too.
I’m scorer on my pub darts team - we lost again last night - 6-3 (our usual defeat) I cannot hit the board so I never play but enjoy the scoring plus the food at my pub is brilliant - not so last night when there were just a few stale ish sandwiches
