Hello!

Hello and greetings from Norn Iron! (N.Ireland)
I have just joined OFF so am hoping to get the hang of things soon.
If you are thinking I have a slightly odd user name it is what our first born grandson used to call me but couldn’t pronounce his 'r’s

Hello and welcome - come on in and chat!

Thank you peeps! Feels a little strange at first but I’m sure I will soon feel at home.

Hi Glanny and welcome, hope you enjoy your time on Over50sForum.

Except for the grumpy old Scotsman…

Hi Glanny

A big wave from me in Yorkshire :039:

Roughly where in Yorkshire?
We live in sunny Donny now. Moved from Bedfordshire to be nearer grand children.

Sorry Glanny. Didn’t mean to hijack your thread. I’ve been to NI a few times during the “troubles”… More on that later.

Hello Glanny  welcome…

Thanks!

I live in Batley Bes, Doncaster not that far really. Do you like Doncaster? Are you glad you moved.

Hi Glanny, good to hear from N. Ireland. Like many others, one side of my ancestors were born there.

Thanks all
My paternal grandfather came from Yorkshire. He came over here in the early 1910’s, died in 1976 and never lost his Yorkshire accent

 Who is the Grumpy Scotsman?!

My Auntie has lived in Colorado US since the 60s and she’s still got her Yorkshire accent, she never lost it, her kids all have American accents.
