Hello

Hello everyone,

Decided to join this Forum and get to know some new people.

I am from Kent but at the moment very seriously considering moving to Suffolk (Beccles area) and wonder if anyone lives in the area and can give me some ideas of what it is like to live there? I am single, have 2 grown up children at university and would like to start afresh. Important to me to live in a nice, friendly community with a fair amount of clubs to join so that I can meet people.

Any advice/suggestions welcome!

Hello  Cheryl-Anne, welcome…

Hello and welcome to the forum

Hi Cheryl-Anne glad that you’ve joined us

Hello Cheryl-Anne, welcome to our forum, we are a friendly bunch on here.
Sorry can’t tell you about Suffolk never been there.

Welcome from me too. :039:

Welcome…If you travel from Kent to Suffolk I’d take the A12…through Colchester…then Ipswich…through Norfolk then across country to Derbyshire and Cheshire;)

Hi and welcome Cheryl-Anne. The only thing I know about Suffolk is it’s apparently full of suffering folk.

It’s sort of flattish .

Good morning Cheryl darlin’ and welcome. Whilst Suffolk (& Norfolk) have the ‘broads’, as has already been pointed out these counties are very flat. Living in Kent, you probably have a view of either North or South Downs which does tend to break up the horizon and is, therefore much more interesting.

Hello Cheryl-Anne Welcome to the forums

Some of your comments made me giggle and why not  re proceeding beyond Suffolk/Norfolk. But I really want a change of scenery and have found Kent tad unfriendly tbh. Love the coast or being near it and have grown up children at UEA.
The idea of living somewhere more flat is appealing the older I get as makes cycling easier. Also want to live somewhere where there are a lot of activities/clubs to join…

Have a nice day everyone.

The Suffolk coast has some interesting parts, mostly flattish !
Depends how rural you want to be. It’s mostly better than Chatham or Gillingham.
