Since semi-retiring and moving to the suburbs from NYC, I’ve been trying to up my travel game, both here near home and overseas. I also love knitting, history, and architecture.
I still work part time as a music teacher and church organist, I have an awesome dog named Higgins, and I have a London/Paris trip scheduled for this Winter. Excited to start reading and posting!
Hi Pewter, warm welcome to over50 forum…
You live in my favourite city in USA.
I made some trips there as my son was doing business in that city. I begged him to take me on the NYC Subway. He did, but made me promise not to look sideways at anyone as he was a bit nervous…hahahaha.
I promised, but broke the promise the first 2 minutes on there. Couldn’t help myself. So many interesting people there…
Well hello Pewter I love Americans.
I’m going to New York in November.
I’m looking forward to the Thanks Giving parade, and meeting up with a another New Yorker who is a member on here.
You will enjoy this forum.
Hi phil welcome - but be warned - “our plums do have red maggots” - otherwise you’ll be fine! - getting used to british humor can be difficult sometimes we’ve been trying to educate them for years - I’m from the land down under - perpetual sunshine; clean beaches and sharks !
Welcome Phil…did I read your post correctly…you like knitting? Thats unusual for a male in the UK…i look forward to hearing more about that…enjoy the forum
Welcome from me too, Pewter man.
Britain has some awesome architecture, ancient towns, and friendly pubs.
Where I live is near what is now called the A5 road but it follows the ancient Roman Watling Street. Also Icknield Way which predates the Roman times. History abounds.
