Hello from Thailand

Happy for you. That’s very nice of her. She must be a good cook. I’m not hahaha

Hi Pinny - good afternoon. How are you doing? I posted some pics from Scotland. Now this one is from The Roman Ridge which is quite near to us. And one of the other countries I went to.

Thank you, nice one. The sky is very clear. Our sky is full of dust now. Too bad i can not up load the picture due to the problem on the site that we know.

Some years back our son and daughter-in-law held a garden party. They have quite a few Thai friends here and they all helped to make the food. I like Thai food and even quite spicy food. and so started to eat. I don’t know what the dish was but it was based on anchovies.

I’d taken a good mouthful of it and Wow!, it was so hot! Even so, I felt I had to brave it out rather than go rushing down the garden for a glass or two of water. I managed quite well but the side of my face (the side used to bite into the food) went quite pink and stayed that way for a while.

You’ll get there

Most Thai food is spicy and I love spicy food. If it’s not spicy, I think the food is not delicious. Isn’t it funny? Thank you for sharing such a heartwarming story within your family. Today was raining in Bangkok. I was driving to work and a motorcycle hit my car from behind. I had to waste time driving to a garage to fix it and then go home to get another car and drive to work again. The rain has greatly reduced the dust in Bangkok. Now that if the camera in the app working, I will take a picture and send it to you. Have a great day.

I belive so, one day right?

Bad luck about the car, I hope the damage isn’t too bad. Was the motor cyclist OK?

One of our family is in Thailand at the moment. Nong Kai at present I think. He might be in the country a good while …perhaps even stay there. He speaks the language, as does our granddaughter. An advantage of being brought up in a family that speaks both English and Thai.

Totally agree.

YUM!

I’m not with you. Ms P?
I’m not a night owl !

It is so good to hear that your family members are visiting Nong Khai. It is a province that I have only been to once, but I really like it. It is a peaceful and beautiful province. The people of the Maekong River Basin have a beautiful culture and are kind. I am glad that your grandchildren is bilingual, just like my son who was born in America and started English as his first language. When he returned to Thailand, he did not forget it and is good at English. I have sent him to a bilingual school until now that he is in university. Studies have shown that children who speak multiple languages have larger brains than children who speak only one language. This is a great opportunity for your grandchildren. Regarding the motorcycle accident yesterday, the motorcycle was not damaged. My car is still repairing . It will be done this coming Friday. Thank you for your concern. Sending good wishes to you and your family.

Hahaha, yeah you are 100% right. I forget we live in the other side of the world.:joy::sweat_smile:

Wow Bruce, you went to Hat yai already. I have never been there. My sister has been there many times and said that there are delicious and fresh seafood. For me, it may be a bit far. I really like seafood. I think traveling to nearby provinces like Chonburi, there are many seafood dishes to choose from. I like the pictures of the food you sent. I didn’t think you could eat it. You have to be a real Thai fan to eat these foods. Normally, I see foreigners like to eat food that is generally popular, but you can eat the main dishes of Thai people. You are :+1:. Have you tried this one?

Oh, so do I have a bigger brain, too? I am bilingual in English/Italian, my Italian parents emigrated to the UK in the 60s and I was born there, lived there until I decided to move to Italy at twenty six years old.
Anyway, sorry to hear about the accident, glad it was nothing too serious.

Hi Rose, congratulations on having a bigger brain, Thanks for your concern about accidents. If we don’t hit them, they will hit us. It is normal. Unfortunately, I live in a big city like Bangkok, so there are more accidents. People drive very dangerous. I just found out that you are an Italian girl. You must be beautiful. I heard that Italians people are beautiful and handsome.Hope your day is a beautiful day there!

I have been a dozen or so times, it is sort of the gateway to Thailand from Malaysia. Either catch the train from Jitra or drive to the border then hire a car and driver to Hat Yai. from there either a train or plane (domestic flights are so much cheaper than international flights)

My only complaint is that arriving by land you only get a two week visa whereas if you arrive by air you get a month.

The red squirrel is so cute. I have never seen this color before. I thought squirrels only have one color, which is brown. Does the government have a campaign to save this species?

Oh why is that? I just knew that if you come by plane, you will get a longer visa. I thought 2 weeks traveling is okay for me, if longer than that i might get bored. Thank you for sharing pictures of the train and food. It’s not bad and it helped you to save money. If it were me, I would choose this choice too.
