Hello from Texas!

I am English, American citizen, and we just went through a terrible natural disaster here.

Hello from me AwaysEngland.
I have been watching the floods.
Are you and yours OK?

Hi and welcome, yo have certainly been on the pointy end of the weather.

Good evening darlin’ and welcome. Yes we’ve had news reports from Houston and Corpus Christi on our news for many days. Glad you’re still alive, and connected to the world.

Hi AwaysEngland  I hope youre faring as well as you can over there. It all looks like an absolute nightmare .

My property took on leaking through the roof and it will be fixed next week but I have never seen anything like this in my life- every single neighborhood is piles of dry wall, carpet, furniture, and of course the bodies are turning up too now.

Most people are helping each other, which is very heartening, there was some obnoxious woman here who tried to get a car towed as soon as the flood receded, but that is not the norm.

Hello T  welcome…

Hi there, “T”. Welcome:cool:

My heart goes out to you and all those poor people out there who have lost relatives, homes and possessions. It’s an awful thing to happen.

Get stuck in on our thread and hopefully some of our banter will cheer things up a little for you:)

‘T’ darlin’ there was a report here a few days ago, as the floods recede and people return to their homes, they’re finding (unwelcome) guests in the houses - Crocs and Alligators washed in with the flood water.

Hello T, welcome to our forum.

Hope you are all ok with the weather out there, you are safe on here.

Hello T  a very warm welcome to Over50sForum…

Hello AlwaysEngland. I am glad you are safe after that terrible disaster that has befallen you. We constantly moan about our weather here, but when compared with what happens elsewhere, we have a lot to be thankful for.

I wish you a very warm welcome to OFF. Look forward to hearing from you on the forums. Stay safe xx

Good morning from across the pond. I have friends down your way and it looks grim. I’m glad you are OK and hope things pick up for you and your neighbourhood soon.

Both greetings and commiserations in a single sentence.
Which really just means welcome and like others, I too hope that a semblance of normality soon returns for you.

Darlin’ - keep a very sharp eye on ‘Irma’ in case it keeps going West after crossing Florida and you take a second hit.

Hello Always England

I,m a “newbie” here ,thinking of you ,stay safe and take care

Hi and welcome from a neighbor up the gulf coast in Florida. Wishing you well!

Welcome to the forum AwaysEngland, sorry to hear about your brush with ‘Mother Nature’ I wish I lived a bit nearer so I could help…
