Hello from Minnesota

Land of 10,000 lakes. I still need to do my profile, but I already made my first post and added my profile and avatar pictures. My marital status is in the land of “it’s complicated,” and I work full-time from home as a claims intake representative. I look forward to meeting everybody soon.

Hi![w]12[/w]

Welcome Bobbi.

Thank you, Alan. I forgot to mention that I work graveyard, so I will likely not answer anybody else until much later today. Enjoy your weekend!

Hello Bobbi  welcome, I look forward to chatting with you…

Hi Bobbi  a very warm welcome to Over50s…

Hello and welcome BDBoop.

Welcome to the club… I’ve spent some good times just south of you in Rochester (if it’s possible to have a good time there). I expect it’s getting pretty warm there at present.

Hello and welcome to the forum from me too.

Welcome to the Forum. Hope you enjoy the chat and join in .

Hello Bobbi, and a warm welcome to you.

Hi de Hi ,Boop

Hello friend,

AAAAAAAAAh Minnesota means a lot to my family. My dear late mother began a pen friendship with another 15 year old in Minneapolis in 1939 & met once in about 2000, after over 60 years correspondence.
My mother Olive welcomed Virginia to her home just after my father died & they were on the radio & tv.
Sadly they both moved to sheltered accommodation & lost touch in about 2010.
My mother had an extensive number of fellow letter writers. She was a life long friend of Ken Russell the film director & he kept in touch wherever he was in the world.

Strangely mum & Ken died on exactly the same day & we were spared the pain of delivering the sad news.

Hello there Bobbi, very nice to meet you!
From a northern neighbour!

Hiya Bobbi, and welcome.

Janet

Hello BDBoop and a very warm welcome

Oh, my; that is amazing! I wish reading your mother’s biography was a possibility, she does sound an amazing woman (yes, simply from keeping up a 60 year correspondence, as well as with so many people. Did she always write longhand, or did she wind up resorting to keyboard and email in the end?)

And thank you to all for the greetings. To the poster in Canada, I often refer to my home as Baja, Canada. California humor

Hi Bobbi and welcome from me too

Love the “it’s complicated” status - that’s what mine should read.

We have another member who publishes on Amazon - check him out … he’s called Phil Whitehead.
