Hi - just joined. I’m from West Yorkshire, but live in Queensland Australia. Previously spent time in Austria and New Zealand.
I’m retired - ex bookkeeper, union delegate, aging uni student, and translator, and live with my husband and our 18 month old Golden Retriever, Beth. We also have 6 chickens - chooks as they call them here.
Our two sons have long since left home, but one lives nearby and the other works nearby, so we get to see them often enough. Except right now the youngest is serving with the Army Reserves in East Timor.
That’s about it - looking forward to having a good natter from time to time.
The weather here in supposedly sub-tropical South East Queensland is weird - rain rain rain after years of drought. Talk about climate change - it has been a complete about-face! It is nearly Christmas - we are supposed to be sweltering, and we’re cold!!
It sounds lovely where you are!! In fact I have considered moving to Australia - so I for one will be interested in hearing more from you re your adventures… and post photos too if you can
