I’ve just joined and would like to introduce myself. I’m originally from Nottingham but arrived in Hungary via South Africa, nearly seven years ago.
I live in a tiny village which has only 65 inhabitants, no shop, no pub and a 12 mile drive to the nearest town. My companions are my two dogs and a cat. I don’t have time to get lonely as I’m much to busy … spring and summer are spent cultivating 2 large veggie patches, collecting fruit from the trees and taking the dogs for walks across the fields. In winter we all hibernate and I catch up on all the jobs I haven’t had time to do before.
The only thing I miss is the chance to speak English so I’m really looking forward to writing it instead!
Barbara darlin’ good evening and welcome. Have visited Lake Balaton and Budapest and love Hungary - very laid back atmosphere there. My GP is Hungarian too, a lovely lady who, together with her husband (my orthopaedic sugeon) have looked after my medical needs magnificently well for the past 12 - 13 years.
Welcome to the forum ZsaZsa. I live in your home town although I am from Yorkshire originally so you could also say English is my 2nd language
Sitha.
Hope you have a great time on here and your life sounds very interesting.
I am sure you will have things to tells us especially gardening as Alan, and Geoff love talking plants.
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! My apologies for not thanking you sooner but had a hectic weekend ferrying my two delinquent doglets to and from obedience classes.
Uncle Joe Hungarian doctors are excellent. Their hospitals, although slightly old fashioned compared to the UK, are really efficient as I found out when I fractured my femur and spent a week in .a large general hospital.
Twizard I loved living in SA and only wished I could have spent the rest of my life there, but sadly with all the violence its no longer safe for for an elderly woman who lives on her own, so reluctantly I made the decision to move back to Europe.
