Hello from Alaska!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am Sharon Romine, live in Sitka, Alaska (yes the one from the movie, although Sitka is much prettier than the movie as it wasn’t even filmed here… :-(. Weather did not accommodate them while here… but, yes, eagles do carry off small pets if we’re not careful and the local people are unique unto their own.

I manage vacation rentals and also do marketing, web sites and such for small businesses.

My husband and I have lived in a lot of places, including Saudi Arabia, where we both learned to dive. Diving brought us to Alaska, but that’s another story.

I am 58 and he is 60. I did a search for forums in our age groups just to find folks to converse with in our age group. Excited about finding this one.

We love to travel and look forward to making friends from all over.

We have 7 grandchildren. Been married 41 almost 42. Yikes!~ He works full time in retail but is about to retire and is also football coach part time at the local high school.

I love to write, take photos and walk in the forest. And, I love to travel. Looking forward to meeting others with similar interests.

Hello Sharon  welcome. I look forward to chatting with you…

Hi Sharon!

Welcome from me as well Sharon, loved your intro, your hubby and you do sound like a pair of busy bees so you should fit in just right on this forum, enjoy!

Welcome Sharon I am sure you will enjoy the forum.:039:

Welcome to the forum Sharon, I hope you enjoy it, a nice place to chill.

Sharon darlin’ - hi and welcome. Must be getting slightly chilly that far north now. Have been in cold places myself (got sent to Siberia in January by my employer many years ago - were consulting engineers for the Gas pipe-line). Nowadays though, am a crinkly and disabled with severe arthritis.

Snow and ice in large quantities tend to produce magnificent sights which are very photogenic - look forward to seeing some of your photographs in the coming weeks/months.
