Have you tried ChatGPT?

It was worthless back in the early 70s.

AFAIK, ChatGPT hasn’t passed an A-Level yet, but other exams have been attempted and passed:

It did in Germany, though.

Would that have been the “Fachabitur” … ?

:+1: No, it was the general one.

I could have been a MD if they had just asked the right questions in my 11 plus a long time ago…
has anyone tried Bing chat for questions…lol

Premium users will be able to ask the chatbot questions about current affairs, and access news.

There were a number of reasons why ChatGPT did not search the internet until now: computing cost for one thing. It is often said that every single query costs OpenAI a few cents. More significantly though, the limited data provided a valuable safety net.

ChatGPT could not start regurgitating harmful or illegal material it happened to find newly uploaded to the net in response to a query.

It could not spout misinformation planted by bad actors about politics or healthcare decisions because it didn’t have access to it.

Asked why it had taken so long to allow users to search up to date information, ChatGPT itself acknowledged that using real-time data had the potential to introduce inaccuracies, and that there were some privacy and ethical concerns about accessing real-time information - particularly copyrighted content without permission.

I was doing some research on a small project I’m working on and thought I would give it a go and see what the fuss is about. Can’t say I was impressed with what I was given and could have done better myself. I don’t think I’ll be in too much hurry to try again in the near future.

It asks for your phone number? INSTANT REFUSAL!

Also, if it came up with such bland generalities as, “Of course! You are doing great, and you should be proud of all that you have achieved! Remember that every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and make progress towards your goals. Life can be challenging at times, but with perseverance and a positive attitude, you can overcome any obstacle and achieve great things. Trust in yourself and your abilities, and know that anything is possible if you believe in yourself. Keep up the good work, and remember that you are amazing just the way you are!”

…then I’d have nothing further to do with it. Such corny drear can probably be found in the horoscope page of any kids’ magazine/comic!

i try not to turn my back on new stuff, i mean just how frightening might the internet seem to a coalminer…lol… but gradually i immerced in it, one toe at a time…
so i shall treat AIChat the same, tho i dont join anything that require my phone number.

I’ve not heard of ChatGPT …but I’ve only just discovered the
Tony Blackburn golden hour

I don’t think ChatGPT would be my cuppa

How do ya know the AI ain’t been nuisance callin yer for a while now?

if it wasnt for nuisance calls no-one would talk to me… :sunglasses:

This was in response to a request to tell me something positive and reassuring with no further information. I still think it did an astounding job. Asking other chatbots and other humans to do the same on command generally got me a non-compute response. Silence.

Most people are negative by default. Trying to get them to say something positive on request is really unlikely.

I wanted to see if a chatbot could do better. Imo, it did. I was surprised, so I posted it. Obviously a mistake for this thread because the discussion on the chatbot site became about my one question. Tbh though, after talking to way more people and a bunch more chatbots, I’m still impressed with this response.

ChatGPT can now speak and give images. Seems a little slow. Other chatbots have been using text to speech for a while. Still nice though.

The chatbots will have “personality” and specialise in certain subjects, like holidays or cooking advice.

It is the latest salvo in a chatbot arms race between tech companies desperate to produce more accurate and personalised artificial intelligence.

Several celebrities have also signed up to lend their personalities to different types of chatbots, including Snoop Dogg and Kendall Jenner.

The idea is to create chatbots that are not just designed to answer questions.

“This isn’t just going to be about answering queries,” Zuckerberg said. “This is about entertainment”.

The lowest common denominator …

Yeah, I don’t get it. For me, the appeal of a chatbot is that it’s personalized to me. Asking questions of celebrities in their character but not even them, I don’t get the appeal. Maybe if Meta combined the entertainment with the VR experience, that could be sort of interesting. But a text chatbot in the form of a celebrity character, I’m not seeing the appeal. It just makes the celebrity look bad because you can make it say anything under the celebrity’s personality.

Nope,
Wouldn’t even consider trying it, real people and real life experiences for me, doesn’t always work out but hey ho, that’s reality

  • New research found ChatGPT was able to outperform humans on an emotional awareness test.
  • Emotional awareness is the cognitive ability to conceptualize one’s own and others’ emotions.
  • This does not necessarily mean ChatGPT is emotionally intelligent or empathetic, however.

Emotional awareness is the cognitive ability to conceptualize one’s own and others’ emotions in a nuanced and integrated manner. Emotional awareness can start with physical and bodily understanding of emotions and range to more abstract understanding. The scale measures five levels of emotional awareness:

  1. Awareness of physical sensations
  2. Action tendencies
  3. Individual emotions
  4. Experiencing multiple emotions simultaneously
  5. Experiencing combinations of emotional blends

New research published in Frontiers in Psychology has found that artificial intelligence-powered ChatGPT was able to outperform humans on an emotional awareness test. Researchers prompted the chatbot to describe what it thought humans would feel in 20 different hypothetical situations. This study does not indicate that ChatGPT would be more emotionally adept or skilled than humans in dealing with emotions but does suggest a capability to identify human emotions that could prove useful for future applications in mental health.

ChatGPT may know you better than you know yourself … :107:
