I banged my head, when I fell on the pavement at my sons in Newbury,.i was jogging at the time, but had the wrong shoes on, the toe just caught on the pavement,it happened so quickly ,it really shook me up, I came on the forum and the members told me to get it checked out, my son came home from work and took me to some A&E department in Newbury ,he should have given me a scan, as I’m on blood thinners, he just gave me a real thorough check up…
Hi
I had a fall in hospital, a bad one, as an inpatient.
If you are going to have a fall that is the place to do it.
They are so scared of a claim against them you get immediate scans and treatment.
When I was just tiny about 4 years old I fell down some stone steps knocked myself out and broke my arm…thats about my worst accident so far.
It’s just that you said that it hurts, but if you’re sure or go to A&E like I did with my knee
How long ago did you do that?
I will do Logan. Its gone that weird colour of yellow and purple, and its not sore - but if i get concerned about it I will get it checked out Thank you
It happened in 2020 ,sometime in July I believe, I had a great deal of support from the members on the forum…I can still remember it to this day…it was the forum members who told me to get it checked out, so,I phoned my son, he left work and took me to the department in Newbury, where he lives.
That’s fine then Pauline just wondered.
I have fallen off a lot of horses, but the only time I was taken to hospital was when I fell out of the hay loft onto the cobbles at the stables I worked at. A girl, a few months before me, had done the same thing, got up & got taken home, only for her parents to discover a few days after that her hip was broken, when she was in so much pain she couldn’t walk. They, the Bosses, were taking no chances with me. So covered in hay, straw & other things I was loaded into the ambulance & to A&E in Kingston on Thames. Laying on the bed I felt fine though & was told to stay still, X rays a while later & later still, no breaks found, just a lot of bruising. I was told I could go home, so with difficulty I got off the bed, I ached all over… Luckily they had told my Dad & he was there to take me.
I felt for whoever had to change the bed I’d been in.
On 26 Sept last year I stumbled while jogging and fell bruising my face, knees, right arm, and hands, sprained or broke my right big toe and the ring finger of my left hand. I didn’t have it checked. My toe isn’t 100% OK yet and my finger has grown back together poorly so that I can’t unbend nor bend it properly any more.
Dachs, how awful, …
@Dachs how terrible, but they don’t do anything with toes they tell you to not walk on it for a few days. Someone up the road from us she stubbed her small toe on the bed and she was told that.
