Good timing to start a thread about riding in an ambulance Bretrick…
Last Sunday I had a bad turn and Mrs Fox had to summon an ambulance when I was rushed to hospital.
It was compliments of the NHS and free of charge. Also free of charge was the very tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner, also the numerous mugs of tea during my stay.
Fortunately, with the sound of the siren still ringing in my ears I stepped out for my early morning five miles and felt great…A lot different from last Sunday’s malarky…

yes about 6 years ago had a leg injury in a yard luckily enough a mechanic working nearby heard my screams and called the ambulance. here are few photos on the injury after the operation to save my leg. if sceamish please do not look.

Goodness me @Feey , it looks like you was lucky to keep your leg, was you able to walk properly again , ?
From my Shoulder injury its not got the same movement back as before .So looking at your leg injury ,you must have had to learn to walk again as I had to learn to move my arm .

yes had to do lots of physio to get my walking back these days walk with a bit of a limp, was out of work for almost 12 months went back to doing same job driving and delivering so guess alls ok. wife did have to sign for amputation in case of not being able to save the leg so guess she was glad to see me comming back from theatre with still 2 legs.

Its a long job mending ,mine still is after 10 months , You came out it alright , must have been a nightmare for Mrs Feey,

Nope, never needed one for myself. Never been inside one for my family, either.
I did slip on ice and broke my wrist in 2013, now have 14 screws and a plate. My friend drove me to the hospital an hour away. Note: doc hung my arm up on a meat hook for a half hour to get my jambed bones in line…operated next day. I didn’t like that at all.

I had one called for me. I was having a bout of severe chest pains at work and someone called an ambulance to get me to hospital and get checked out. After ECG, blood test and chest X-rays, I was given the all clear. Apparently it was more of a case of lack of sleep, too much coffee and work-related stress.
For some reason, all these symptoms disappeared the day I retired.

Yes, in October 2022 I had a heart attack & was taken to hospital by ambulance.
2 months later in December 2022 I had another ambulance ride when I had a car crash which wrote my car off. My life was saved by the air bags & seat belt.
