Nope, women get by far the worse end of the stick.
Their bodies are much more complicated than a male body, they have to work harder than men for less money and are often seen and treated as second class citizens.
They are also far more likely to be attacked when out on their own.
Rape and being hit is not something I ever had to worry about.
My sisters had to.
I could walk home for miles in the dark and not worry.
I personally think that a not insignificant number of males are pathetic, nasty bullies.
Things are getting worse now especially amongst teenage boys, the way they behave towards girls is disgraceful.

That’s a very insightful post swimfeeders … I recently felt that all the progress in understanding the difficulties that women face simply because if their gender has halted and even started to reverse.
I don’t know what the answer is apart from honest discussion and a willingness to understand each genders experiences and opinions.
Your post is brilliant.

I am wading through Tom Holland’s history of the Roman empire (actually it is very good, but there is a lot of it). So it seems that amongst other things to be famous for, Nero was famous for his love for his wife Poppaea. But Nero had quite the temper and in a fit of rage kicked Poppaea in the stomach. When she was pregnant. Both mother and child died. After which Nero was distraught (bit of guilt me thinks). He demanded that the empire was searched for someone who looked just like Poppaea (nice to know he loved her for her personality). And out somewhere in the middle east they found a slave who was a dead ringer for Poppaea. The fact that this slave was a teenage boy was not seen as a problem. Got his bits whipped off and he was a she - and was Nero’s companion and lover for the rest of his life.
Strange old world.

To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to be a woman. But I have this to say, now I’m in my 60’s all my friends are female. I don’t hang around with males, and before you get the wrong impression, I’m not gay, I just don’t have any interests that are particularly male orientated, football, cars, drinking, cricket.
I got bored with sports when I was a teenager and my interest in rock music took over.
So now I’m more into the arts, music, film, writing, painting (as in pictures, not decorating).

I agree - in fact even outside this topics (which does tend to dominate bloke chat) the typical make banter is often not that interesting. Listing the road number whilst providing directions does not count as interesting (no, no mate, its fastest to take the left, east, onto the A475 and then pick up the A28 at Droitwich)
