In the late 1950’s, my ex husband Terry’s uncle was a train driver and he promised Terry and his brother a ride on his train. They were so excited but he never did carry out his promise.
The two boys were very disappointed and Terry never forgot it… he would mention it occasionally and say, how he’d have loved to have had a ride on his train.
So why do some people make promises and then never carry them out? Don’t they realise how disappointed the person would be?
Has anyone made a promise to you and broken it, or visa versa?
My first lady of my heart. I thought we were good until she went of to Edinburgh Uni. I made my mind up we meshed together nicely, but while she was up in Edinburgh she changed and broke her promise. Some years later she married a research lobbyist and died aged 68 from cancer. We did stay friends though and she always sent be an advance copy of all her books which were inscribed to me.
A few years after I was dumped, I was proposed to by my present wife of coming up to 55yrs and she is still alive and kicking at 5yrs my junior For me it was 2nd time lucky
