Unfortunately it’s a new game the establishment play when they are frightened when one of the candidates (the wrong one) gets so much support that they would undoubtedly win the election.
They just flood the ballot sheet with lots of candidates to deliberately water down the vote.
It happens in my constituency a lot, thereby letting Labour in. It didn’t work last year with Reform taking the lions share of the vote and occupying a large majority of the local council that has been a labour council since my dad was a lad.
Who are they again? Do you mean people from rich families, who went to private schools, whose connections got them good jobs and who know very rich people?
No Lincs, I mean the silent and powerful people who really run this country.
But I think you know who they are…You’ve probably worked for them and still are unoficially.
King Charlie of Australia?
Such as? Do you mean aristos and people from titled families? Or publicity avoiding wealthy or CEOs? Or important members of elite London clubs? Give us a bit of a clue please.
Definitely not King Charles Bruce… ![]()
If you are as Au fait with latest news and what’s happening in the world as you say you are, you know exactly who I mean Lincs…
Wink Wink…

I am not sure about that, he ponces about in uniform with his army behind him to let you know who is really in charge while wearing the medals Mummy gave him.
I am reasonably up to date with UK news … and I do not know who you mean. In fact, I think you have simply borrowed the term from Reform and tried to use it without any idea of exactly who mean. It is so very like Trump’s “drain the swamp”. Who exactly? What shadowy figures are you referring to … that are not your imagination. Or Farage’s ploy to distract people.
Come on guys … bricks in handbags time.
Do you think Farage will win?
You know … I have a sneaking suspicion he will.
But that might be because I can’t contemplate what it will do to the Reform party should their leader lose his seat.
Of course he will win. There are about 30 zero hope, lost deposit candidates who will barely get to double digit percentage of the vote in total. There will be a few thousand who like the idea of voting for Binface as a protest and/or for a bit of fun. But this is a strong Reform seat and Farage will get 10,000 and a bit more (but not a lot more). These are die hard Reform supporters who can compartmentalise their thinking - one part of the brain disliking the failings and claims of corruption of traditional parties, and another part of their brain excusing the dodgy funding and the dismal failings of Reform. They like the cut of Farage’s pitch so will vote him back in.
It is not about that. It will be about how Farage tries to take this unnecessary byelection that is his doing, his win against a bin, and somehow make that into a sweeping endorsement of his financial issues.
You mean reform borrowed it from me more like. I’ve known about the true rulers of most governments long before reform was a thing… ![]()
You just have to read posts on X (formerly twitter) to know the real truth…
Then why is it taking you so long to provide any details?
The next likely greedy mistake by Farage will be him taking his EU pension next year. The man who defined himself by hating the EU, seeking to take the UK out of the EU regardless of consequences and now many, many millions richer - qualifies for his pension when he gets to 63 years old. It is worth 73k a year. He does not need it. His work record whilst at the EU means he does not deserve all of it. It would come from his hated EU. But I bet you that he pockets it. Man of the people, sorry, man only for himself.
Yer only jealous Lincs…

On the one hand it is doubtless true that pretty much everyone on this forum would welcome an additional 70 thousand each year (for having done very little at all - he had after all about the worst attendance record of any of the MEPs). In that sense all of us would be a little envious, especially as none of us has his millions in the bank…
On the other hand it is more true that he does not need or deserve this additional money. And if he hates the EU so much, which he clearly says he does, then it is perhaps strange that he is happy to accept their largesse. Is this not the EU wasteful spending he hates so much?
Well today is the day and three things are certain. The turn out to vote will be even lower than the dismal 58% that voted in Clacton in the actual general election. Farage will comfortable be returned as an MP in the biggest waste of time and money in recent politics. Farage will make a false equivalence that this vote by a few thousand in Clacton is the same as him being exonerated for not declaring £5m when he stood back in 2024. No, Nigel, it is not the same thing.
I can almost see his smug smarmy face boasting how the people of Clacton have faith in him … so the whole country should.
Just a min … isn’t that what Burnham boasted about with Makerfield… and look how he’s risen in the ranks.
I think we could readily insert a significant difference between the two, don’t you think?
Yes we can Lincs, one is just a complete waste of space making promises he can never honour which should be written into the labour manifest, while the other can lead Reform to victory at the next election and sort out this ailing country…
