i think i deserve it more than a lot considering our winters :shock:
While the Winter fuel payments re most welcome, it still does not alter the facts that thousands of elderly people die of Hypothermia in the UK each Winter as there homes are inadequately heated.
Also we have very few warm months in the UK
At present the government are trying, with New boilers for people on any benefits.
However what about the people who have been thrifty and never claimed a penny?
Just because they have megre savings, they do not get any help with New boilers or anything else for that matter.
The More you claim they more you get in the UK which is not fair.
I totally agree , I could do with a new Boiler but then found out cause not on benefits cannot get one.

No notification and no payment here yet, I wonder if the notifications are alphabetical , I am quite a way down the alphabet 
Doesn’t it say when to expect it? Mine said it would be paid into my bank account in 3 weeks time… so due around the beginning of December.
Nowadays, I fire off an email complaint … 
Is it cash you can spend on anything or must you put it towards fuel?
I don’t qualify in any case.
For me, the payment is just a deposit into my current account - it gets spent as normal income.
Quite right, Omah! Everyone’s most probably paying their fuel bills out of their normal bank account, so whether it goes towards one paid yesterday, today, next week, or whenever…it’s a financial help, and much appreciated.
I’ve just paid about £158 for my latest, but the one expected early February, and the one three months later, will be much higher.
That’s true Jazzie…I too have paid £156 in October,but the next 2 bills in January/April will be a lot higher,so the £200 is very welcome to help with them.
Not sure Meg, mine and hubby’s payments do not arrive together and we both have the same surname!
