Has anybody done a Click & collect order at Morrisons?

I did one to collect today & when I arrived they told me it had been cancelled, yet it had been confirmed by e mail & I was advised it was ready to collect .
It seems that many orders are showing a voucher that reduces the price in error, so they just cancelled all the orders.
I have had strong words with them as it wasted most of my morning trying to remember what I had ordered & search the shop for these items.
If you have ordered click & collect items please contact the shop as there have been many customers caught out with this. I told them to get a better computer system or send apologies to the customer before they travel to pick up a non existent order!

I hope you get a full refund Twink.

With the click & collect you pay for them when you pick them up Annie. They do the shopping for you and put it in your car boot & you just pay the bill on their little machines.or give cash.
The real problem would be for people who had ordered things for New Year and had a friend or relative picking them up.

I would report that catch-a-customer practice to trading standards. If more people took such action, they would not try to pull a fast one again.

I do not shop at Morrison’s since the americans bought it out.

what difference does that make ST

Our Morrison’s used to be good - as supermarkets go - friendly staff, quality produce - now it has definitely gone down hill. Was in there just before Christmas - the ‘fresh’ fruit/veg were wilted and stale, and the staff made us feel as though we were in the way. Perhaps it is coincidental - but it was never like that when it was still family owned. Mentioned it at the customer service desk on the way out - and the woman just shrugged her shoulders.

we haven’t noticed any of that but we have noticed their prices have gone up a lot compared to other supermarkets.

When I phoned to complain they told me that hadn’t happened yet, but the staff in the shop told me it had!

I have no idea what caused this problem, but It makes me think I should now look elsewhere.
I only buy from Morrison’s because they stock the cat foods that my cats will eat, and some supermarkets don’t!
I suspect that we will all need to accept that the customer is no longer always right & have to put up with poorer service from our supermarkets! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Err, can’t agree with this bit Twink. A bit of decency and respect goes a long way, and there are plenty of supermarkets to choose from so we can vote with our pennies. As for your cats…well…I have no suggestions. All all cat staff will know, they are not ones for changing. :crying_cat_face:

I spoke to some of the staff at Morrisons & the majority are pleasant & helpful but they also think the takeover will cause a lot of changes & problems.

The cat food is a problem because about 3-4 years ago the people who made it wanted to increase the price & the Supermarkets said they wouldn’t pay the increase. I confirmed that by speaking to managers of all the supermarkets who stocked what I wanted to buy ! For a while I managed to get it imported from Germany at a much lower price than in the UK , but that involved staying in all day to wait for the delivery.

I have since found a few places where I can buy it in the UK , but I still think it is very poor service, from any shop, who e mail to tell you that your order is ready for collection and, when you go to collect it, they tell you it had been cancelled. :rage:
The staff may be nice, but to the business you are just the supplier of money !

for some reason I always associated them with a cheaper supermarket like Aldi. I was surprised when they opened a new store to find that they are more middle of the road or dearer. Their market position isn’t really clear in terms of value added or niche quality. Probably why they have sold out to the US buyers.

er … No!
