Apparently the new house and it’s neighbourhood are
subject to waves of a disgusting smell when the
wind is in a certain direction?
No it’s not s low cost housing development nearby
but a 40 acre bird sanctuary which gives off the
smell of rotting offal on occasion!
Some of the neighbours have to keep their windows
closed all day !!
If this gets out property prices will go into. Crash dive
mode !! And they are thinking of selling apparently?
I wonder if they will mention this to the prospective
buyers?
What a laugh!!
Donkeyman!
Couldn’t happen to a better pair!
If that was an English abode, they would have to notify any prospective buyer of all know ‘detractions’ or fall foul of the law and I would hazard a guess that this would also apply to other parts of the world.
Information that needs to be disclosed as part of a sale (kfh.co.uk)
Whether or not a piece of information is deemed to be relevant may depend on each particular case. If in doubt, speak to your solicitor or estate agent.
@LongDriver , yeah, l know, l just wondered if they would do it ??
If people know about this it could mean a price drop of
millions !!
Donkeyman!
Did it stink before they moved in, or after?
@Judd , That’s not known, but l bet Meghan don’t wash
nappies out Perhaps the septic tanks clogged up ?
Donkeyman!
Ha, I know this area well, and I suppose the birds roosting on the nearby cliffs could cause a problem when the wind shifts, but there is always a strong odor there of salt, seaweed, and the oceans. If they are fussy about the marine ecosystem smelling like a marine ecosystem they aren’t going to last.
The marine layer that ebbs and flows morning and night is trapped and settles in many days trapped by the hills along the coast. It’s a pretty area (I lived and surfed nearby), but not particularly outstanding when compared to other even more spectacular areas along the coast; it’s just popular because it is within a commuter’s distance to Los Angeles.
From the News:
It was reported that the Sussexes chose to move up to Santa Barbara County to gain some distance from invasive paparazzi and to be close to celebrity friends including Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres. They also were looking for a more family-friendly area to live. They are parents to Archie, 2, and Lilibet Diana, 7 months.
They recently enrolled Archie in a local preschool, where both parents have been seen dropping him off with a space-themed lunchbox, the Mirror also reported.
A parent of one of Archie’s classmates told the Mirror: “Harry often drops Archie off and picks him up, and seems like a good dad. All the parents have been laidback in welcoming Harry and Meghan, without making a fuss. And to the other kids, Archie is just one of them.”
But even up in Santa Barbara County, Harry and Meghan have struggled to maintain total privacy on their property. The Daily Mail reported in April that the sheriff’s department had to respond to nine calls from their estate, including twice for a trespasser and five times when their alarm system was triggered.
It is a lovely place to live, just not for them. Obviously, Oprah Winfrey and Ellen have resided there, and if the smell was unacceptable, surely they would have advised Meghan and her hubby ahead of the sale.
They have a right to move like any other couple for their own reasons.
@RightNow , " if the smell were unacceptable , surely they
would have advised them" ??
Not so sure that would be the case, Right Now , not with the
prices of property being what they are ??
Don’t take this so seriously though, it’s only the peasants taking
the piss out of their royals
Donkeyman!
I don’t take it seriously at all. Take all the piss you’d like.
Maybe, it’s Lilibet’s nappies?
Oh… l thought we were plebs?
