Comanche was the only one left alive after the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Despite several arrows in his flank, he still made it back to the Cavalry. His wounds were treated and then retired to live out the rest of his days.

Copenhagen was the horse ridden by Lord Wellington at Waterloo.

Traveller was ridden by General Robert E Lee during the American Civil War

Reckless was classed as a US Marine and took part in the Korean War.
