They had to own a property worth at least five pounds or be married to a man who did.

Incidentally, 1918 also so the vote being given to ALL men over the age of twenty-one. Prior to that only around 60% of men were entitled to vote because it was based on property ownership, that’s why some men had no choice to fight in the war as they had no voting rights. Those that did could volunteer for service but they couldn’t be conscripted. Even when the men returned from the war they weren’t entitled to vote until the Representation of the People Act of 1918 was passed.
