Greetings from Dubai

I am a US citizen currently living and working in Dubai. I’ve been here since Dec 2011, so coming up on 14 years. I found this forum sorta by accident. I am 64, male, and “tall, dark, and two-outta-three ain’t bad.” I am in the middle of a divorce, which I found out about last week. She’s in the US. There aren’t any real animosities involved, so no need for condolences. About my only pastimes are Quiz Nights and Chess.

While in Dubai, I’ve lived in a villa, in an apartment, on the Palm (Shoreline apts), and on JBR (the main tourist beach). Right now, I’m just in an apartment near work. Sometimes I ride my bike to work, but not right now because the average afternoon temperature is about 110 degrees F (44C) or thereabouts.

I can’t think of anything else to say, so I’ll leave it at this.

Hi Don and welcome to the forum. I’m sorry about your divorce - been there, done that, done and dusted.

For my sins I’m an electrical engineer and have travelled extensively including Dubai ,

@DonDate Welcome to the forum, Don! It’s nice to meet you here. Looking forward to hearing more about your life in Dubai.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. We took fourth at last night’s Quiz Night, by one point… and I convinced them to change one correct answer to an incorrect one. My bad. Oh, well! Maybe next time.

Hello and welcome.

Those in Dubai don’t like.the Flintstones but those in Abu dhabi do

Congratulations! That’s the worst pun I’ve heard this week! Here’s your trophy.
