greetings from central uk

Hi -

actually 64 rather than an over 50 as such, photo is maybe 2 yrs old, reason for joining is difficulty coming to terms with retirement, made redundant 18 mths ago.

when employed life was something of a blur, things getting seemingly more difficult year on year, probably reflecting the changing nature of the work environment

everybody says join this and that, volunteer, find another job but after years of office work i’m only too glad to do nothing more than potter.

still, it seems a strange existance, on the scrap heap, as it were, but it does allow me to visit my mother more who is now in her 90’s but still active.

people say it takes two years to become relaxed about retirement, is this true i wonder - miss the money and colleagues but not the meetings

I took to retirement like a duck to water Ian but everybody’s different. I did become a CAB advisor which I did for 7 years until it started to become a chore, now I’m happy just to potter and pursue my interests. Anyway, WELCOME to OFF and I’m sure you’ll like it here.

welcome to the forum , look forward to you posting .
