'Greedy' Liz Truss has claimed nearly £5,000 in expenses for energy in last five years

Prime Minister-in-waiting Liz Truss has claimed £4,817 in taxpayer expenses on gas and electric in the last five years.

Ms Truss’s claim was for her second home in Thetford, Norfolk – where almost 30 per cent of children are living in poverty.

Well, she would, wouldn’t she … :man_shrugging:

I really hope she doesn’t win. I don’t trust her one inch.

Hi

She is a rabid right wing free market, minimal government intervention in anything person.

A frightening prospect with her and Rees Mogg running the show.

Even the USA has more government intervention than these two are wanting

Such a self server. This person cannot be allowed to become PM. Not that I get any choice in the matter, but as the only alternative. Come on Rishi. You thought Johnson was a dubious character, just watch how the student will outshine the master. Truss’s only mantra is ME ME ME.

Thats the point, Dave…only the chosen few get to choose (providing the price is right). We are a nation of 68 million people, yet a few thousand get to choose who will decide our future. I think there’s a word for that

FWIW my views are that when an MP decides to quit his/her own party, a by-election should be called immediately, and that if a PM is ousted or quits mid term, then a GE should be called once a new party leader is elected, since the party in power were elected based on the ideas/morals/direction determined by the outgoing leader and since this is changed then it’s an entirely new ballgame. This is especially true since it’s not the parliamentary party that has elected the new leader, and so “continuity” cannot be claimed in any general democratic manner.
