Morning all – lovely sunny start to the day with temperatures forecast to reach 27c and getting hotter by the weekend.
Visit from my brother in law and his wife was very enjoyable, he was on his way to hospital for radiotherapy treatment. Lovely man, he was more concerned about the fact his wife had had a nasty fall and her knee and legs were covered in bruises.
Had coffee with my neighbours yesterday, once again I came away with homemade cake!
Earlier in the day a different neighbour’s alarm went off. Why is it nobody seems to take notice of alarms? I was the only one who went outside to try to see what was going on – not that I could do anything if there was someone breaking in! I couldn’t see anything so assume they must have left a window open. The neighbour was out so the alarm kept going for 15 minutes
I had planned to go into the city today but I think it is going to be too hot so I will probably just visit the local shop and stock up on some groceries (and ice cream!)
After the terrible last couple of days I decided I had enough of being Ill and following Doctors orders and staying in bed dosed up to the eyeballs with opioids and palliative care happy pills.
I am not going into hospital, staying at home.
I have no intention at all of dying in a chemically induced zombie condition, unwashed hair and unshaven due to the risk of a cut and uncontrolled bleeding, with a nappy and someone wiping my bum.
I am no Doctor, but a fairly good scientist with an understanding of my condition.
So, the plan was made, first, change of meds, only short term, but essential to getting out of the house.
I am not as clever as I thought I was, fell flat twice, set of my falls alarm.
Managed to persuade the falls centre they were just two heavy stumbles, not falls, I was OK and that for the second one my carer was due in a few minutes and did not need an ambulance.
To Cut a long story short, managed to get out this morning, shopping with my carer and feel so much better for it.
The added bonus being that I could buy a few illicit treats.
“Is this what Bridlington uses instead of a lighthouse? Or is it just what 15 year old girls use as a mating call these days?”
Sorry to rib you Carly, I appreciate it was a very hairy situation. Although considering we’re the same age, going by the late 80s/early 90s fashion…a very bald one?
Good afternoon everyone, a little cooler now, after the thunderstorms, temperatures not higher than 30C. My daughter’s over for a few days, I’ve obviously started spoiling her as usual , cooking her favorite local dishes.
Gosh @CarlyB! Your story really seems like a scene from a Carry On film! Poor you, I can’t even imagine how you must have felt, and at that delicate age, too!
Sounds idyllic, your daughter’s in for a wonderful few days!
Also couldn’t agree more, Rose! Anyone seeing your privates in public is bad enough, but…holding it wide open for all to see - the mental image made me cringe in my chair!
Brilliant weather here in Llandodno so walked around the Great Orme, just over five miles with some hard climbs. No naked ladies though…
The start of the walk.
Agreed, Rose! It is a rather unfortunate fact in life that this was the poor girl’s worst nightmare, but speaking on behalf of blokes in their 80s, that is a sight beyond our wildest dreams! And the sheer embarrassment just absolutely makes it all the more exciting
Hope you’re having a wonderful time with your daughter!
Meant to say, ladies @Rose2@Tracyhello thanks for the sympathies. Yes, it was exactly as embarrassing as you can imagine, at the most self-conscious age possible! But at least it taught me a lesson in A) never being literally caught with your pants down, and B) getting sunburnt in places you didn’t even know the sun could reach!
@terrycharles Yep, I was fully aware at the time it was the over 50s who were more delighted by the sight than the guys even close to my age. That’s saucy Britain for you!
Welcome to the forum Pippi, nice to see you here…
There’s this old Welsh love song that I always like to hear a choir sing called ‘Myfanwy’
But on Tuesday night the Colwyn Choir finished with the ‘American Trilogy’ and they brought in the magnificent chapel pipe organ…Talk about goose pimples…
Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing that beautiful music with me. It has a calming affect. I listened to it while doing an art meditation with my colored pencils. I pray you are having a blessed Sunday.
Thanks Pippi, Sunday’s been fine although a bit hectic. Just returned from holiday yesterday and the plants are badly in need of watering, bills seem to have come out of nowhere, there’s washing spread all over the house, and I’m going on a long drive tomorrow…It’s a celebration…
