Good Morning Wednesday, 9th July 2025

Good morning to all on this sunny, warmish (?) Wednesday. The thermometer on my patio reads 18°, still cardigan weather but being in the sun is nice after yesterday’s clouds.

I did go to Bunnings yesterday arvo and bought a few things including a new carpet sweeper - crikey, they have gone up in price, my current one cost me $23, this identical one was $35

Have spent most of the morning in the garden and garage working on a shelf/table to sit across the arms of my chair to support my laptop. Have no idea why, I have a folding table which does the job perfectly well and cost less than the pine alone I bought for this job. Keeps me busy in winter I guess

I used my Makita router to round the edges, it’s a tool that doesn’t get used much and it shows. When I was sanding I noticed a bit where I must have tilted the router  . Not sure if I am going to pretend it didn’t happen or try to repair it. So annoying.

That’s my morning in a nutshell. Have a good one where ever you are.

Take care…

Good morning from Wales.
Another warm and sunny start to the day,
After evening meal last night we went to the local chapel to see the Colwyn Male Voice Choir.
One of the best choirs I’ve ever seen.
When we first started going to the chapel to see a choir a few years ago it was just 4 quid but last night we paid a tenner, but well worth it.
But i know what you mean about everything being a lot dearer these days @Bruce

Morning everyone! After a lengthy trip back from the Lake District it’s nice to wake up in your own bed. But I’m already out for the morning swim like a loon!

Enjoy your garden @Bruce , hope everything’s fun in sunny wales @OldGreyFox and glad you got back ok from the Lakes @CarlyB

P.S Carly, you still owe us that story about the bikini disaster! :joy:

Oh, haha I’d truly forgotten about that! Ok, here goes, you have been warned: I think I was about 15 or 16, on a holiday with my family in Bridlington. Anyway I was getting changed out of my bikini, I was far away from my family and everyone else. My bottoms were down and I was plucking sand out of my…erm…’front-bottom’ (any other ladies here used to call it that?). It’s at this point I should probably mention that what was definitely an undiagnosed case of ADHD at the time used to lead me to daydream quite a bit. I was staring at a huge cruise liner on the horizon, just lost in my own world. And it must have been ages because when I snapped back to reality there were…really quite a lot of people around! It was only when I saw a few blokes gawping that I realised I was just stood in the middle of the beach with my bottoms around my ankles, just…erm…holding my girly parts wide open for the world to see. Cue me hurriedly pulling the bottoms up and sprinting away in horror! There you go, you asked for it, hope that doesn’t put you off your breakfast!

Good Morning all! :sun_with_face::sunflower:

Blimey Janice… easy with that coffee! :slightly_smiling_face::coffee:
I hope the situation will have resolved itself by this evening when you crack open the Moët! :champagne:

I’m just about to jump out of my wynciette nighty, get changed and head down to the mill pond. Chilli jnr will join me when he arises…in due course.

I don’t suppose I’ll witness any bikini incidents on the mill pond but if I do you lot will be the first to know!

Have a good day forum people :+1: :bikini:

Oh Carly… :woman_facepalming: But what a story! I told it to hubby at the breakfast table and I think he’s had to go off for some alone time :joy:

So was your incident the definition of fannying around? Sorry, couldn’t resist.

Good morning everyone! Have a nice evening @Bruce

Hope you’re having a nice time in my homeland @OldGreyFox

Is it a teaching day @Janicelain ?

Have a nice day by the water @Chilliboot

Morning all – lovely sunny start to the day with temperatures forecast to reach 27c and getting hotter by the weekend.

Visit from my brother in law and his wife was very enjoyable, he was on his way to hospital for radiotherapy treatment. Lovely man, he was more concerned about the fact his wife had had a nasty fall and her knee and legs were covered in bruises.

Had coffee with my neighbours yesterday, once again I came away with homemade cake!

Earlier in the day a different neighbour’s alarm went off. Why is it nobody seems to take notice of alarms? I was the only one who went outside to try to see what was going on – not that I could do anything if there was someone breaking in! I couldn’t see anything so assume they must have left a window open. The neighbour was out so the alarm kept going for 15 minutes

I had planned to go into the city today but I think it is going to be too hot so I will probably just visit the local shop and stock up on some groceries (and ice cream!)

Take care – have a lovely day

Alright, alright, laugh it up everyone!

@Tracyhello I do have to admit ‘fannying around’ did really make me laugh. Good innuendo work everyone, keep them coming I guess… :woman_facepalming:

Hi

Good Morning All.

After the terrible last couple of days I decided I had enough of being Ill and following Doctors orders and staying in bed dosed up to the eyeballs with opioids and palliative care happy pills.

I am not going into hospital, staying at home.

I have no intention at all of dying in a chemically induced zombie condition, unwashed hair and unshaven due to the risk of a cut and uncontrolled bleeding, with a nappy and someone wiping my bum.

I am no Doctor, but a fairly good scientist with an understanding of my condition.

So, the plan was made, first, change of meds, only short term, but essential to getting out of the house.

I am not as clever as I thought I was, fell flat twice, set of my falls alarm.

Managed to persuade the falls centre they were just two heavy stumbles, not falls, I was OK and that for the second one my carer was due in a few minutes and did not need an ambulance.

To Cut a long story short, managed to get out this morning, shopping with my carer and feel so much better for it.

The added bonus being that I could buy a few illicit treats.

Have a great day all.

Have a great day all.
