Good Morning Wednesday, 3rd December 2025

Good morning everyone, on a warmer day than yesterday.

Spent the the morning at the motor dealers getting my car serviced, took my tablet and book to wile away the time.

This morning I filled the bird bath to see if it is a bit more waterproof. When I was in Bunnings I was tempted by some waterproofing stuff for concrete but I needed such small amount the cost seemed ridiculous.

This was as it was drying within a few minutes. I also filled in some holes where some blue metal had come away from the concrete hence the blob on the base.

It is crude but let’s face it is is only an old bird bath, I suppose the next job is to get it back level, it was perfectly level once but over the years has developed a slight tilt.

Anyway it is filled with water now will see how it is tomorrow.

Enjoy the day.

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

Stupidly early here, the meds have changed my daily routine, I used to sleep normally.

It has stopped raining, no more forecast until Saturday.

The slow cooker is going on, a veggie stew, using up the odd bits of frozen veg left with some uncooked lentils and tins of various beans and chickpeas.

Two frozen blocks each of ginger, garlic and curry, with passata being added later.

That will last a couple of days.

Have a great day all and stay safe.

Good morning - It has been raining overnight. The bird bath and water barrel are full to the point of overflowing. The skies are brightening though and a fairly sunny (but chilly) day is forecast.

I’ve put some washing in the machine and am tidying the place up in readiness for Mrs mart coming home and our daughter coming to stay. I have a way to go yet.

I need to do a big shop but might as well wait until we are all here to say what to put on the list.

Have the best possible day.

Good morning!
Dull but not raining

Well, I finished my cleaning & tidying yesterday, and the place looks better - not up to show house standards, but better than it has done for weeks ----- Bored now!

A couple of errands in town first, including getting a bank mini statement
Then the Men’s Shed in the afternoon

Good morning one and all…

Nice bright crisp day here in the southern Hampshire coast. Just about to go for a breakfast and coffee, back here and off on my daily walk, check up on the lonely swan with my bag of feed. Maybe go to the shops later if my stuff has arrived. Spent most of yesterday getting ready for our trip in a couple of weeks time, printing off stuff and getting cases down from the attic. The wife says we won’t take much as we’re only going for a week, but as usual, is thinking about packing everything.

Have a great day all…

Morning Folks… :069:
Some Christmas lights went up yesterday on the house, but lots more to do.
The second in a series of Christmas dinners today with some friends and a faraway garden centre, you can’t have too many Christmas dinners, it only comes round once a year.
I don’t think Yorkshire Puddings go with Christmas dinner and they are too filling, so I left mine on Saturday.

Isn’t nature brilliant, the different varieties deciduous trees on the green lose their leaves at different times, giving me time to clear up the last lot of leaves…

Good morning all! :sun_behind_small_cloud:

Just juggling things around in the front room having found space to put up the Christmas tree yesterday evening :christmas_tree:
The back of the mega fern has just had a trim leaving bits of brownery all over the floor, never mind,a job for Henry :+1:

I’m thinking of making some kidney bean veggie burgers later. That does sound slightly joyless but they can be very tasty if you make them properly. I use my versatile little electric Krups coffee mill to grind up some porridge oats which give some substance and act as a binding agent. The beauty of it is that you can pretty much add what ever flavourings/seasoning that appeals. There’s plenty of recipes online.

Have a good day people! :+1:

That looks great, Bruce. 99% of people these days would have just chucked the thing. Send us pics of any customer who might pop by.

Aww, Mart, your daughter won’t mind doing some of that

No need to push yourself. Do you have a date for her arrival?

Give me a ring; I’m baking sourdough and will be on my way as soon as it’s ready. :+1:

Ooooo, better not have said that…that’s when the trouble starts :grimacing: . Houses have ears, you know. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I hope she shows and is doing well, Graham. I think about her often.

That sounds lovely, OGF, and just the way this time of year should be spent.

I would print it, and put it my glove compartment. I would hope that no one would begrudge you the right to drive, when the government is throwing trees in our way. Sounds like your drivers license system is way too complex.

Ok, I am swinging by to get you and those burgers and we will then head to @swimfeeders for dinner.

You two have me starving; I’m trying to burn off a few more pounds before the forthcoming Kansas wedding.

Great minds, @Chilliboot. Late last night, I brought this young lady in from the 39ÂşF cold, which had done her no favors, as you can see. She is currently across the room on my phone reporting abuse.

Fun times in Florida this morning; I am off for a root canal this morning…afternoon…night… or however long it takes. No, @OldGreyFox, you may not take your diamond files to it .

Have a nice day!

I haven’t put Christmas decorations up for about three years now. When I last took them down I left the lights around the window and put them on a timer so I have those lights all year round. It is all very festive.

The problem is that replacements all seem to be made of plastic which I don’t think are that durable, this thing I think I bought in the late 80s or early 90s so it has done well.

Since I discovered that Coles sell burger patties that don’t look machine made I buy those, they are meat however but not bad - don’t taste as good as homemade ones but for a quick burger they are more than adequate. They come in packs of four so I freeze three for later.
