Good Morning Wednesday, 30th April 2025

Good morning to everybody on the last day of yet another month in 2025. It is all happening too quickly.

I have just arrived in a little town called Surat. I think the local pub runs everything here, they are the caravan park, the motel, a restaurant and coffee shop. The site is nice, all grass. The weather is lovely - You know what they say - Queensland, Beautiful One Day, Perfect the Next

Arrived in Queensland early this morning, dead straight, forward run little traffic. Know more about CUB camper trailerss than I needed to know, I have a very chatty next door neighbour. He was so enthusiastic about it I thought he must have just bought it, turns out he’s had it 9 years, looks like new.

Hope you have a great day

Take care…

Morning all – yes another lovely sunny day – temperatures forecast to reach 26c! Believe it or not there is someone on local radio this morning complaining about the heat!!!

Spent time in the garden yesterday, sitting reading a book – not working! I had to come back indoors as it was so hot (no I am not complaining!)

I was planning to go to a meeting at church this morning, but my brother will be ringing me with an update on Mum so I have to wait for that.

One of my husband’s nephews is running a half marathon to raise money for a Diabetes charity so I hope to visit his parents and make my donation in cash – I don’t like doing it online!

Take care - have a great day

Morning all. Boiling hot down here in Hampshire, just come back from my daily walk. Not sure what’s happening with me today, I’ll think of something once I’ve had my coffee.

Good morning everyone… :039:
Rest day today but still had to do a solo visit to Tesco for the weekly shop. Mrs Fox had other plans and has gone orf with her friend…
With green bin day tomorrow I will see what needs doing in the garden and cut the lawns.
Next job is to pay the council tax online… :010:
Can anyone spare a crust for next weeks dinners…
I just realised after reading about your adventures @Bruce, the thing wrong with the UK is there are far too many people living here, and when the sun comes out, the roads are gridlocked, and trying to find somewhere to eat that’s not got people queing out of the door is almost impossible.
Hope it’s good news about your Mum @SheilaP and good luck to the runner, tell him to drink plenty of water if it’s as hot as today…

There wasn’t a lot of traffic at the Queensland border

Oh no! A traffic jam

Actually that truck was going 100kph and I followed him for over 100km he was usually much further ahead. I think we were slowing for a town. See the road conditions sign is all green all the roads are open

Good afternoon - Hot and sunny today and I’ll have a go at repairing a leaking gutter. It needs to be done whilst the weather is dry. I have to do it while the neighbours are out too. She always asks if I should be up a ladder in view of my age and condition. They are very nice neighbours though and I should be grateful for the concern. I’m still going to have a go at it.

Good afternoon everyone, nice to see you’re all having a bright, sunny day.
Sunny and very warm here too, 26C this morning at 11am when driving back from my gym class, it’s probably much higher now. I’m going for a walk later, after 5pm, I don’t fancy walking in the hot, scorching sun right now, I’m not ready yet, this first taste of Summer has arrived so suddenly, I have to adjust! I haven’t had the chance to dig out my t-shirts! Only two days ago I had turned the central heating on again, it was very cold and we had rain for a whole week, obviously the thunderstorm we had on Monday was the grand finale!
Lots of pollen around .
I’ve just stepped out onto the balcony, wow it’s hot, inside is so much colder, it’s gonna take a while to warm up inside, after yet another looooong winter.

Hi

Late today, I had another Significant Coronary Event last night, not the most pleasant of things.

I have also got the viral infection doing the rounds, so very tired.

I have also just had a late delivery of corals, should have been here earlier when one of my Carers was here to sort them out.

Not the best of days I have had but still here, which is good.

I am hoping to get some rest soon.

Have a good day all.

To be fair @OldGreyFox if I had gone up Highway 1 to Queensland the picture would be completely different with plenty of traffic (like the Hume Highway) something like 90% of Australians live within 50km of the coast.

I travel where I do because of the lack of people, don’t know if it is to do with growing up in an English seaside town but I love the bush and the inland.

I only dream of roads like that Bruce…

Someone once said: “The English have a love of wild places” and I’m the same Bruce, although spending the first 35 years of my life in a factory meant that I couldn’t wait to get away from it all at the weekends. Hence my love of long distance running and walking out on the fells.
Someone else once said: " Isn’t it strange that we build cities and towns with all the amenities for peoples recreation and enjoyment, but most people would much rather seek out the wild unspoilt places nature has to offer at the least opportunity"
