Good Morning - Wednesday, 2nd Februaury

Thanks @OldGreyFox, @SilverTabby and @Mags. I’ve just had an update, that she had the heart attack while in the ambulance, which led to cardiac arrest. Her heart stopped for around 10-12 minutes, They’re taking her to theatre for an angiogram and possibly a stent. But they have told her son that he should tell his brother to come down from Yorkshire, so sounds as if they are preparing for the worst outcome.

Foxy, it’s so awful how the hospitals all seem to have different rules about visiting. If only they would let her son be there with her. I know it wouldn’t make any difference to the outcome, but it sure as hell would make a difference to his state of mind, and to my sister’s.

Thanks Jazzi. Just heard she is out of surgery, with 2 stents and a balloon fitted! One artery was completely blocked and two others were bad. She’s being kept deeply sedated for the next 24 hours in ICU, and we will find out then if there’s any further damage from such a long cardiac arrest

Hi

Chill out, I live on my own and have had 6 heart attacks and 5medical emergencies in the last 19 months.

Suspected Heart Attacks go into Resus, there is no way you will be allowed in as they need to keep Covid and other Infections out.

Heart Attacks are determined by a Blood Test for Tropine T, it takes two tests, hours apart.

A Heart Attack is not the same as a Cardiac Arrest, that is what kills you.

Heart Attacks are treatable, not nice and they do affect your quality of life.

You will survive a Heart attack, even it means a horrendous reduction in your quality of life.

Hey up, Candlemass day, mid point between Winter and spring solstices, If Candlemas be dry and bright then winter will be back for another bite, if Candlemas brings cloud and rain then winter won’t be back again.

Thank you @swimfeeders, @summer and @Muddy. Things are looking a tiny bit better now, they’re gradually reducing the sedation with the hope of bringing her out of it tonight, then we shall see how things are.

Swimmy, I know cardiac arrest is different from a heart attack - she had the heart attack in the ambulance, which led to cardiac arrest for 10-12 minutes. They had to sedate her in order to intubate her, because she was panicking and fighting it. We are all just so flipping grateful that the heart attack happened after the ambulance arrived. Had they arrived later, and the attack happened while she was waiting, she would have then gone into cardiac arrest with only her son there, we know that would have been the end. As it was, they worked on her and managed to start her heart again. So she was very lucky that it happened as it did.
