Good Morning Wednesday, 26th June 2024

Good morning to you all, we are halfway through the week already nearly into the second half of the year!

Spent some of the morning delving into the inner workings of the solar charger in my camper. As far as I am aware it is now set up to match the new AGM battery I recently installed. I was surprised to find that it didn’t have a preset for AGM and had to study  the manual to find out how to change things.

Not much that’s exciting planned for today, I have already spent some of the morning sitting in the sun in the garden where it is warmer than in the house (19°) but I have things I need to do unfortunately - am expecting kids and grandkids to descend on me this weekend for a couple of family events.

Waiting for the dew to evaporate so I can spray the clover with Bindie because it is better to get rid of it in winter than spring or summer.

Well, that’s about as exciting as it gets for me today, is your day any better?

Morning all – another hot and sunny morning – it is going to be even hotter than yesterday, although we are being told today is the last day of such hot weather!

I know you are typing in English Bruce but I didn’t understand a word of your second paragraph – but I am sure it was very enlightening for many others! (Yes I am a technophobe!)

Beastie obviously thinks I am getting complacent because she left two gifts for me this morning! One in the middle of the floor so I had to step around it to get into the room. The other on a rug by the conservatory door – I am sure I saw her smile as she went out while I was scrubbing the rug!
:smirk_cat:

Had a very “interesting” day sorting the paperwork yesterday. Discovered I had not run off a copy of the house insurance (I get the policy via email) so sorted that. Finished my book, which means I will either have to re-read a book I haven’t read for a while or get a new one. Off to a club for “older” people today and they sometimes have books and odds and ends on sale which have been donated so hopefully there will be at least one book there which will catch my interest

Take care – have a great day everyone

Good morning Bruce and Sheila and all who follow, although it wasn’t very many yesterday was it!.. :009:
I don’t usually go for a walk on a Wednesday being as it’s the Tesco shopping day, and Mrs Fox likes to go early, about half seven, and we take the old girl across the street (I say ‘old’ but she’s younger than us) but after getting up for a wee at 5:30 I realised that I could do my 3 miler along the canal and still be back in time to go shopping…
No sun just wall to wall cloud but still quite warm, I was surprised by the number of folk I saw on the walk, don’t they have anything better to do…
Today will be spent making preparations for tomorrows hike along the coast, I’ve bought some bottled water and peanut butter for a sandwich, but we pass a Greggs in Scarborough while going up for the bus, so I might override the peanut butter sandwich and get a Greggs one instead… :yum:
So just a visit to ‘Go Outdoors’ for something to wear for tomorrow, and because I’ve got a money off voucher that expires at the end of the month…
Perhaps ‘Beastie’ is just crying out to be noticed Sheila, cats don’t like to be ignored you know…It’s okay for them to ignore you, but not the other way around… :cat2:

Good morning from the Dominican Republic (and I am as surprised as you are)!

You all sound like your are having enjoyable days. I am not familiar with AGM batteries so will read up on that. @OGF, looking forward to reading. about your hiking adventure. and I had a good chuckle over “Go Outdoors.” It’s always refreshing when a company’s name actually says what it does! I am sure I would be up and down every aisle. Well done on finishing your book, Sheila! That is such a luxury!

Capt. Surfermom invited me pack a bag to tag along for a short itinerary of Caribbean flights before heading to Chicago for a couple of days. He called late Monday morning, and we were on the beach by late afternoon. I am still in awe of the speed of airline travel.

Surf is still up but there are no surfboards to be had:

First afternoon, water was gorgeous:

The advantage of dining late, open palapa:

Down the beach:

bit late on here today for a very good reason. the computer over the years has had a few annoying issues, mainly down to me. Things like opening photograph and didn’t go full screen. the screen opening on one side partally. Oopening a photo only in microsoft legecy not in photo, running slow becuse of an oveload in “gallery” of photos not wanted. Mmicrosoft undates- program updates- leftovers on different programs etc etc. So this monring i thought sod it get into the original windows11 and start again but keeping all files and folders etc.
Very long job because the computer has to go step by step into everything in the reboot. then it misses out on some programs because it doesn’t recognise them, so have to download manually.
Just about finished now but no doubt forgotten something or other.

I used to do that with Mrs Fox when I was a courier Surfermom. I said ‘Get yerself scrubbed up and I’ll take you out on a delivery to some exotic industrial estate in Basingstoke’…She always enjoyed the fryup breakfast on the way home though…

Brilliant, OGF. I now you had a mighty good time in the job!

That would be Capt. Surfermom, Bruce. I was the one home dealing with electrical outages in snowstorms, sick kids, floods, broken lawnmowers, bill paying, flat tires… This was plenty fun though!

Good afternoon all!
Bloody hell, tough act to follow people :astonished:
:+1:
All this tinkering, surfing and glamour :slightly_smiling_face:
I’m cool, not working today, I’ve been helping my son prepare himself for his first solo trip on the train to Scotland on Monday to stay with family.
I shall miss him very much but he’ll be treated like royalty, if you’ve not visited Glasgow of late it’s highly recommended :+1:

In the meantime I’ve just sliced some semi stale M&S soda bread with lashings of thickly spread West Sussex foraged wild garlic butter from the freezer…

Into the oven we go, enjoy the rest of your day forum friends :sun_with_face::+1:
