Good Morning Wednesday, 26th February 2025

Good morning everyone, it’s the middle of the week, only two days of summer left for me and presumably of winter for you.

Moderately busy morning, updated the software in my TV in the camper though I am currently thinking of upgrading it to a Google TV. Not so it can spy on me better but because the current one doesn’t have a HDMI-ARC output for the soundbar. That TV is five years old and only has one HDMI input.

BTW that all started because I wanted to plug in a USB extension cable to make it easier to attach things rather than fumbling about behind the TV  One does get carried away but a new small Google 24" TV is less than $200 so there is a good chance I will get one.

Later I got to wield my new(ish) Makita chainsaw on a few tree limbs that have been driving me mad. It works surprisingly well especially for the price. I have not had a chainsaw for many years since my petrol one gave up the ghost. I do have to get a sharpening file, my old one is the wrong diameter for this chain.

As I type my 3D printer is printing out a key ring for my daughter, as I have mentioned she is a car enthusiast (as is her husband) but one of her more leisurely favourite car is a Suzuki Jimny. God knows how many engine changes it has had before the current one but I think she is finally happy with it. Anyway someone else has designed a key ring for the newer model so I am printing it out, will give it to her when she gets back from Japan…

I think this arvo will be a lot less busy :grinning:

Enjoy your day.

Take care…

You have been a busy man @Bruce , We had a Suzuki Alto many years ago, had problems from new and had recall too.

At 7am there was a red sky , we are now getting rain , this evening I will be going to the

Concert Hall as I mentioned earlier in the week .

Nothing else planned for today

Have a good day

Morning all – after 2 days of lovely sunshine we now have rain, more rain and have I mentioned it is raining? :umbrella:

You certainly have been busy Bruce – makes me feel tired just reading about it

Plan for today is to go along to a regular meeting for “older” people at church. They only meet once a month and I haven’t been able to attend the last two meetings so it will be nice to see everyone. They always have very interesting speakers (and there is free coffee!) :coffee:

Take care – have a great day

My daughter’s first car (that I bought for her when she passed her driving test) was a Suzuki Swift, it developed a slight oil leak from a gasket so I warned to check the oil regularly. Of course she didn’t and one night I received a call from her saying she had broken down on the expressway. When I got the car home it had put a rod through the block - no oil, She had never checked the oil, I guess she did learn the lesson. Her next car was checked every day and it didn’t have a leak at all.

There were signs of her need for speed even then, she absolutely refused to run the air con because, “It slows the car down”.

Jimnys are a tiny four wheel drive she has built drawers in the back and has an upright fridge and lithium aux battery, the changes of engine were purely to get more power. The only flaw with this older model is that there is no long range fuel tank for it. On the way back from Tipooburra to Broken Hill she reckoned there was just half a litre left in the tank when she arrived at the servo.

That’s the Jimny on the left with her swag in front of it.

Hi

A lovely dry day.

I have Shona here, an expert on Blink, Alexa and paperwork, electronic or otherwise.

My Blink system has stopped working, she is having a devil of a time getting them working again.

In the meantime she is filling up my Filtered water in 25 litre containers.

I have a pump arriving later today to get the mixed salt water into the aquarium.

If all goes well Saturday will be the start of cycling.

Only a week away of having fish in the Tank.

Have a good day all.

Good Day Everyone, a very disturbed night again last night and good to get up and moving about. Most of the pain goes off during the day but being inactive for long periods (like sleeping) brings it back with a vengeance. I even popped a Ibuprofen before I went to bed, but still woke up in pain at 2:30am and popped down two paracetamol tablets.
No walking today it being a rest day, and it was a good job. The rain came hurtling down in bucket fulls as we made our way to do the early morning shop at Tesco, its stopped now and the sun keeps showing its face.
Had to postpone a visit to the seaside because of the painful clutch foot…
Had to adjust my meds as I think that is the reason for the gout attack.
Bit of a bugger when I’m taking tablets to reduce uric acid (Allopurinol) and at the same time taking tablets to increase uric acid (Bisoprolol)… :009:

Good crisp morning from Florida!

@OldGreyFox, I am terribly sorry to read that you are having a rough go of it. I know it must be frustrating. Do you think your recent heart events are tied to your gout or is it just a stroke of unfortunate luck? If it’s affecting your adventuring might you consult your physician or do you think you can manage it on your own?

@swimfeeders good luck with your Blink. I know several people who enjoy theirs because it gives them an added layer of security. I know you love your fish, so I hope you have easy success with your new pump.

@Bruce, very clever work on that keychain! I think 3D printing has amazing possibilities in medicine and manufacturing. I’ve never met a man yet, who didn’t enjoy wielding a chain saw. We have a couple of very old oak trees on our new lot that would be a lot healthier with some careful trimming, and Mr. Surfermom is chomping at the bit to fire up his. I sort of get it; I have a little hedge trimmer that is like a little chain saw that yield’s great results, but a big ole’ noisy saw? No thanks . I’d rather bake a pie.

It’s a busy day of wrestling years of belongings out of the house and into storage or sent to the curb. I have no idea why I ever wanted or thought we needed so much - stuff. It sure feels good to get rid of it.

With that, I am off!

Have a pleasant day!

I bought this one as my big chainsaw could not get between the bush stems

What’s Blink? I am familiar with Alexa though I use the Goggle version. Is Blink similar?

You can use the tip

Mind you looking at the size of those stems I’d just use a hand saw or just change the angle of approach

Would have used a hand saw if I could have got closer. The branches spread out too far so this hand chainsaw was the best thing to use
