Good Morning Wednesday 25th September 2024

Good morning to you all on this warm day.

Just got back from the Chemist.

The tropical moisture anomaly from the north east is about to hit a southerly cold front so I am trying to make the best use of the day outside. There is even a possibility of an East Coast low forming - fortunately further north of me - it’s the cyclone you get where cyclones can’t form.

On the up side the ground is so dry that it is cracking and needs a good downpour. It won’t hit until this evening anyway.

Finished emptying my car and camper this morning so that job is out of the way, yesterday washed off the red dirt at least from the camper, the car might have to wait a while.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, enjoy your day…

All the best.

Morning all – dry again this morning, although more heavy rain forecast!

No little gifts from the beast this morning. She wouldn’t go out and didn’t want cuddles, just wandered around talking to me – unfortunately my education did not include lessons on speaking cat!

Coffee morning at the local church this morning – not sure who the speaker is going to be, but usually someone interesting.

Despite the heavy rain we have been having lately the local water company have chosen a number of areas to carry out a “trial” (the residents have no choice). In the summer they will be allocated a certain amount of water, if they go over that amount they will be charged 4 times the usual rate! They are saying it is to try to get people to use less water – if they want to save water they could start by fixing all the leaking water pipes! Don’t you just know that at the end of the “trial” they will announce it is a success and roll it out to everyone. Most people have a water meter already so this is just an excuse to make more money.

Rant over!!

Take care – have a lovely day everyone

Good heavens! is it Wednesday already?
Doesn’t seem like two minutes ago since we had the last one… :017:
Another rest day today, I could get used to this… :042:
Fine weather this morning and I think I can just see the sun peeping out from behind some white fluffy clouds…
:sun_behind_small_cloud:
However, there is a weather warning in the forecast for some heavy rain this evening and into tomorrow, so it looks like another wet walk in the morning…
:umbrella:
Just an early morning saunter around Tesco while there’s hardly anyone in and then home for breakfast and a shower. How do I know it’s getting colder outside? Because It’s the third time in as many days that someone has asked me if I’m cold wearing shorts… :009:
I tell the that these are my long winter shorts…

Fancied a drive out to a garden centre for lunch later, I asked our friends and neighbours and they liked the idea, so I’ll take the scenic route and enjoy the drive…

The cost of water here is dependent on the dam levels, if the dam levels drop bellow 60% then the price of water goes up until the levels return above 70% again.

That’s scandalous Sheila. The government of the day just has one major job, to make sure the population have enough water and energy, and while their open door policy of allowing all and sundry to come and live here they should have prepared better. What did they think would happen!.. :009:
