Good Morning Wednesday, 23rd July 2025

Good morning all, just returned from a pleasant walk in the sunshine. There was about 1mm of rain overnight (best time for it) but the day is sunny with a few fluffy clouds about.

Happened upon a couple of ducks next to my house grazing in the grass. My presence forced them into the road but once I was passed they returned. Having got the hang og Google picture search I am able to say that they are the Australian Wood Duck also called a Maned Goose (don’t ask me!).

Early this morning I toddled off to the supermarket for milk, annoyingly they had no three litre bottles so I had to make do with a couple of two litre bottles. Such is life in the fast lane.

Have great Wednesday.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

The 23rd of the Month is never a good day for me, it is the day Poverty hits home.

It is the day I pay off my Credit Cards in full and transfer £1200 to my Housekeeping Account.

Whilst I pay my Carers cash every day, it is also the day I have to pay their supplier £4.83 an hour for their costs and Insurance in supplying them.

Such is life in Broken Britain.

If I had never worked, like my neighbours either side, everything would be free.

Good morning all! :cloud:

A ‘bitty’ kind of day today. Royal Mail have informed me that the Pentax K1000 camera will be delivered between 10:00 - 14:00 today. I’ll slip in a battery for the light meter when it arrives.

I’ll need to invest in another yellow filter, the diameter on my Canon AE-1 50 mm lens is 52mm - the diameter on the Pentax is 49mm. Oh well… hey ho!

We have a pack of chicken drumsticks to chuck into the slow cooker this afternoon. I’ll be magicing up a tomato ketchup, soy sauce, honey and olive oil based sauce to go over them. Hopefully I’ll be able to get hold of some sesame seeds from over the road to add that little extra something :yum:

Have a terrific day people… the week is whizzing by! :+1:

Good morning!
A bit cloudy but dry & warm

I’ve more or less finished my unpacking & sorting from last weekend’s trip
Today I have a couple of errands in town, including getting a mini statement and returning a library book
Later I’ll do some shopping at Sainsbury; it is on the same retail park as Currys so I’ll have another look at cordless vacuum cleaners as I still can’t decide

Good morning everyone… :026:
Tesco shopping done, it took us longer than usual because they are re-designing the shop and making some improvements, so stuff has been moved all over the shop. I don’t mind searching for things, and I bet they don’t too, because in my search I happened across several items I didn’t know they had and popped them into my trolley…We are also buying extra food and other items for Pussycat Rosie…The bill was a bit of a shock…
:open_mouth:
And to cap it off, we called in at the vets to arrange her vaccinations, chipping and neutering…
That’s this months pension gone…
She’s half asleep at my side while I’m writing this…

Sorted out my old desktop computer yesterday, it was nothing more than a small lithium battery - 2032 which keeps some memory when the power is turned off so it remembers what to do. That battery has lasted 15 years…Who would have thought it, and how many people knew that it was there. I know we had such a battery in a previous telly when all the stations were lost each time it was turned off and I discovered this little button cell tucked away in the gubins…I bet Bruce knew of their existence?

Lovely pussycat Foxy!
Her colour and markings compliment your furniture perfectly.
Looks like that chair is now her own! :smiley_cat:

Thanks Chilli, she’s about 3 months old now and comes from a hectic household with kids and cats and she must miss the activity and her mum, so she likes to be with someone and follows me and Mrs Fox around the house. We try to keep her entertained with games and toys but we don’t have the stamina these days to keep up with her. However, she does sleep a lot and a period of high energy activity (her not me) puts her to sleep for long periods and give us old folks some peace for a while. She’s got to know about my forum visits so comes and goes to sleep on the next chair, and yes, that chair has now been claimed and woe betide anyone who tries to take it from her…

I’m reliably informed your little furball is the spitting image of a cuddly kit called Matilda, owned by Ruthio, an absent friend.

She’s got her eye on you on that photo.

If I was going to keep a moggie it’d have to be a Maine coon cat! :smiley_cat:
