Good morning campers. It’s a cool but sunny winter’s day here.
I arranged a rego check for my car and paid the CTP Insurance (compulsory third party), then threw some new clothes in the washing machine (says on the label wash them before use)…
Later I painted the 3D printed stuff I had in the camper. Actually a bit disappointed, it was supposed to be a dark blue to (sort of) match the bedding but to me it looks almost black. However I am not going to lose any sleep over it because I still think it looks better than the orange or red plastic.
Morning all – a bit cloudy this morning but sun is struggling to come through
Beastie behaved herself again last night – definitely lulling me into a false sense of security, can only imagine what evil deed she has brewing!
When leaving the neighbour’s house I bumped into a friend – I expressed surprise that she was out and about so early as she, like me, is not a morning person. She said she hadn’t been able to sleep so got up early and was off to do some shopping – I was on my way back to my house to have my 3rd cup of wake up juice
Had some lovely news yesterday – my great niece (oh that makes me feel old) is planning a tour of Europe with her husband later this year. They are coming to UK for a friend’s wedding and wanted to know if they could stay with me for a few days – it will be lovely to see them again, although I do wonder as they are coming from Australia, how they will cope with UK weather in December
Good Morning From Foxy’s World…
Rest day today with just the Tesco shopping done early on. A new flag needs to be hoisted as the old union flag is looking a bit weather beaten having survived for most of the winter. Mrs Fox has chosen the Yorkshire flag in preparation for Yorkshire day in August…
This is what it should look like…
It needs to be done after scaling the garage roof…If I don’t post a photo later, assume that it didn’t go well…
With the weather forecast for light winds and no rain, it’s time to try a bike ride…I’ll see how I feel to determine how far it will be…
Probably very well (depending on where they have come from). It has been record cold for the last week, night time temps have been into single figures along the coast and today’s temp as an example was below average at 16°.
They are in S. Australia. The average temperatures in UK in December are between 2c & 7c although often dropping to below zero overnight - think they may find it a bit chilly
Good afternoon - A nice day here and me and Mrs will soon go for a walk. Maybe up to the local canal where there is an ice-cream shop. A walk along to a park and home again.
Good morning ,good morning! Winds are gusting from the tropical storm in the lower gulf, bringing us an occasional shower and a break from the heat.
The forum world is looking good out there with freshly painted containers, OGF looking fit and off for a cycle, and Sheila with her niece’s visit to anticipate. That Yorkshire flag is a pretty one, @OldGreyFox!
This is exterior priming and painting day at the beach place, which means a day of stooping, sanding, priming, and painting a stairwell and about 1,500 square feet of decking boards. The salt air has been brutal on nails that should have been stainless screws. It seems that am the lottery winner for mitigating that long-ago decision. Don’t you all think I should be rewarded with dinner out for my suffering? Well, at least I will get a surf session in with a nice little swell heading this way.
Sweltering today, high humidity and 34C! Recently got back from Naples train station to see my daughter off to Venice - no, not for a holiday - to start a job in a courthouse (magistrate’s office) in one of the other cities of the region. They’ll tell her tomorrow which one it will be, at the “new employees” meeting. 200 candidates summoned to be sent to various places. Yes, that’s the way it works here, you wait ages to be summoned and then they only give you half a day’s notice - it’s over 700km away from us!
Not nice seeing my daughter move out
Cycling went very well and I was surprised how easy it was to cover the fifteen miles of my long course. I did take it very cautiously though and kept my heart rate down to a minimum.
With hardly any wind and being fairly warm, it was a pleasure to be out once again meandering along relatively quiet country roads. Like I’d never been away…
Flag erecting was also completed with no mishaps, although from the top of the garage I spotted a blocked gutter on the summer house, and a wall that desperately needs some pointing…Always a job…
