Good morning from Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains.
It started off cold 9° overnight and this morning was grey and overcast. I went for a walk early then out to get fuel before calling in at te visitor centre. Since then the cloud has burned off into a lovely day.
To be honest unless you are a trekker, fisher, boater or in winter a skier there is not much here, Their is not even a brochure about the area ,just a map and list!
This arvo I am going to drive up to Charlote pass for the view then tomorrow Ademinaby
Good morning!
Cold & grey but dry
It might improve, but the forecast has been for wind & rain, so who knows …
I haven’t been posting on here for a while as I haven’t been feeling too well
For most of January and into February I had an awful flu bug - sore throat, cough, tired, aching, and all the rest of it
Eventually it cleared up, but it has left me feeling very tired & weak; then it sort of flared up again, not as bad, but I still just didn’t feel like doing much, and spent a few days just sitting around or dozing under the duvet and there’s been nothing much to report.
Now I feel better and I’m catching up on cleaning, tidying, and errands
I have a list of sort of administration jobs to do - check my bank & building society accounts; sort my car insurance; letters & emails to friends & family as I haven’t been in touch with them since Christmas; check times of appointments, both medical and sessions at craft & community centres.
So I have a part finished To Do list, and various bits of forms & paperwork on my desk, rather like homework!
I hope to get it all completed today as I can’t spend the rest of my life under the duvet, can I? …
Well I could, but I’d have to go out for more whisky eventually.
It’s been raining since one this morning, which means I have been up since one this morning trying to comfort nervous doggies. They are great watchdogs with a glass door between them and the roaming neighborhood cats, but they are no warriors against the gods of thunder and lightning.
@zuludog Zulu, it’s really good to hear from you and more especially that you are feeling better. I really wish we had a trustworthy system for helping older people with errands, finances, and all matters of running a house - especially when they aren’t feeling well. Slay those virus dragons, Zdog!
@Eliza, I am excited for you! It sounds like your dinner will be an adventure, but I would definitely not be shy about having the server explain the dishes. Many a costly mistake has been made Have a great time!
@swimfeeders, I bet it felt great to get out of the house for a few hours and wish you well with your Blink system. I have been dragging my feet on getting one, so let us know how it goes.
@Bruce, Australia is brilliant in the way in which they name their places. If nothing else, just the sound or places like Moonbah, Crackenback, Blue Cow, and Perisher Valley are intriguing enough to make one turn onto the road less traveled. Looking forward to a report of your vista from Charlotte’s pass!
It’s too icky to run, so I’ll call this a rest day, and spend the day running errands and scrubbing, about which I will not elaborate lest I bore the forum into a stunned state of boredom.
When my brother was here he remarked the same (and he lives near Boggy Bottom) though some of the pronunciations are weird, for example no one gets these right first time.
