Good morning everyone, woke up to see thick fog outside, what’s it doing here, this time of year? It rained all day yesterday, more rain for the rest of the week.
This premature Autumn is just not right
@Bruce, so you’re on the road again? Sounds fun, it’s probably the best time of year for you, before it gets too hot.
Morning all – overcast this morning although we are promised sunshine for later
I was 10 minutes going in to feed the beast this morning and she punished me by leaving a little gift next to the radiator! Who knew cats can tell the time!
Had a lazy day yesterday – resting my knee (well that is my excuse and I am sticking to it!)
Today’s plan is a visit to the cemetery and then off to a shopping centre
Rest day today, so that means an early visit to Tesco.
I’m just going to nip out now and cut the lawns as it’s green bin day tomorrow and they come very early…Although the recent sunny weather might have slowed them down a bit…Everybody out cutting grass and weeding their gardens. Plans to visit the big Tesco at the other side of town (traffic is usually abysmal) for a Yorkshire breakfast…Hash browns, egg, sausage, bacon, beans, tomato, and two rounds of hot buttered toast…
PS…
Just had to rewrite my post as it was sent away for approval…I mentioned weeding the edges around the lawns…
Good afternoon - A sunny and warm one it it as well. Going to go for a walk along the canal bank soon, then back along the road. An off-road test for Mrs mart’s new powerchair.
We sold a Kuschall manual wheelchair on Ebay this morning. The buyer was very happy with it, which makes us very happy too. Surprising how much unneeded disabled stuff we have accumulated over the years. All upgraded to something else for one reason or another. Time for a cleanout. I’m starting to be able to move about in the garage. Just a powerchair to advertise and sell now.
Neat sounding place, @Bruce. The smaller and more remote, the better, IMHO. Safe traveling today.
Congratulations on the sale, @mart. I’ve never known anyone who sold something locally on Ebay before; glad to hear it is fairly easy to do.
Interesting that you mentioned the fog, @Rose2. It was foggy here on Saturday, and I don’t recall it every being this early, Might make for a good year for grapes, if this becomes a pattern.
After a soaking wet run, despite - or because - the sun is out, I did a little yard work, dead-headed the petunias, hydrangeas, and ginger (always a treat because of the aroma), I slayed the crepe myrtle leaves and seeds with the help of the leaf blower. Aaaah, that feeling of everything looking crisp and neat . I just wish I could say the same for my appearance… .
Time for dog baths, followed by me running myself through a carwash. Maybe the commercial-grad blower can do something with this hair…
Are you supposed to ‘dead head’ hydrangeas Surfermon?
I notice in the gardens around here they leave the flower heads on until they disintegrate.
Doesn’t it drain the energy back into the root?
Just sayin’
A knowledgeable one you are ! These are indeed mopheads, so it’s not necessary. However, mine had a crazy number of blooms this year, so the idea is to expose more leaf surface area, which will promote more leaf and stem growth in the fall and reduce moisture-holding surfaces that promote disease since it is so incredibly humid here.
