Good Morning Wednesday, 18th June 2025

Good morning friendly forum folks, yet another sunny winter’s day but temperatures only getting up into the high teens.

My lock replacement is slowly coming to an end, just fitted the last deadlock but have a lot of patching and painting still to do. Americans must have thicker doors than us because you can’t tighten up the keyholders on my doors without it interfering with the mechanism so I have had to improvise spacers. Annoying but not the end of the world however I thought the whole job would take a day but so far it has taken three - not that there is any rush.

Just returned from posting new door keys to my kids.

I doubt I will do much more today my back is killing me.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Take care…

Good morning all! :sun_with_face:

Up at 05:00 , no probs it’s my favourite time of day as no doubt I’ve mentioned before. The morning joss stick is wafting it’s scent from the kitchen and the orange wax melt is melting over the tea light here in the front room.
It’s the beginning of the impending mini heatwave which I’m not entirely looking forward to.

The Canon a-1 film camera should be delivered to my local post office any day now and so I’ve just ordered a yellow Tiffen filter from Amazon. It’d probably be handy if I actually ordered a roll of film too!

I’m off out shopping with Chilli jnr this morning, fairly early before it gets too hot!

Have a good day forum people, keep hydrated! :+1:

Morning all.

Hot sunny day again here in the deepest south of Hampshire.

I’m supposed to be going out for a meal later today, but not sure if it’s still going ahead or not. Mrs G is having some grief with Amazon, having bought a dress cover and is having issues with the seller, all of which is making her unhappy. Managed to cut my lawn and tidy the drive up a bit and at sometime I need to get down to the amenity tip with all my cuttings. I also have a tree which desperately needs trimming down, but that can wait for another day.

Not much more I can add to that. Maybe go for my daily walk and coffee later, possibly wander off and feed the swans and cygnets on my travels. If things get really desperate, may have to resort to cleaning my car, as I park under phone lines, its always covered in pigeon poop.

Anyways, have a great day…

Morning all – very sunny with temperatures forecast to reach 27c. The trouble with high temperatures in UK is that it is a very humid heat.

Who said cats can’t tell the time!! I was 5 minutes late going in to feed her this morning and was well and truly told off – I think it is just as well I don’t speak cat! She again left a couple of “gifts”. The good news is she is using the newspapers I put down, the bad news is I am running out of newspaper! She also refused to go out after breakfast

Not looking forward to today – I have a dentist appointment this afternoon. It is the same dentist I have used for years which means a drive into the next county – unfortunately the local authority there have chosen to take away the free car parking so that is an additional expense (as if a visit to the dentist isn’t expensive enough!)

Take care – have a great day

Good morning!
It was a bit dull & cool, though dry, when I got up about 06-30, but it turned out quite sunny & warm

Sat about with cups of coffee then did some shopping at LIDL and a local green grocers

Now I’m back at home to do the unpacking then an early dinner as I’m expecting a friend to visit this afternoon to discuss our new/proposed Men’s Shed

Another hot day. I’ve had my weekly service (nephrostomy dressing change and general clean-up  ) The builders made an early start to avoid doing much in the heat of the day. It’s a real sun trap where they are. I’m not doing much myself but have erected a temporary ‘shed’. Got to un-wire the chalet later so it can be lifted and moved.

The ‘shed’. Ill put the other sides on later…

Building progress…

Have a good day everyone.
