Good Morning Wednesday, 18th February 2026

Good morning one and all, with a special hello to all the one eyed out there

It is a very warm day heading for the mid/high 30s before a southerly change sweeps through, it didn’t cool down overnight at 6 am it was still 24°.

My friend picked me up just after 7am to go to the Day Surgery Hospital, was there far too early but the op is done and I am home again, strange op done while conscious but with a “one doesn’t care” anaesthetic and something which immobilises the eye, lots of water seemed to be involved. You spend a lot more time recovering than in the op which I think is only 15 minutes. I have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow at 8am in his surgery. I hope I can get the other eye scheduled quickly.

Nothing much is going to happen for the rest of the day, I am waiting for my daughter to arrive later to stay overnight before she is off to some 4 wheel drive event tomorrow.

Was having a quick look at UK flights for later in the year, can’t do much about it yet because I need to get my UK passport. I might be packing too much into this year, Darwin in May, UK perhaps July followed by the Oodnadatta Track in September

Enjoy your Wednesday, I am going to attempt to read my book.

Take care…

Good morning!
Dull, cloudy, cold, but dry

Today I’ll be doing one of the jobs I didn’t manage yesterday - mending a book shelf
I’m sure I’ll find something to do after that

Good morning all…

A cold and blustery day here in southern Hampshire, but at least it’s dry. Just come back from my walk to feed the swans, but were nowhere to be seen. There were two pairs of Canada Geese trying to out-honk each other, not sure who was winning.

Really not sure what’s happening today, the wife has cancelled her gym spot today and we may have to go and pick up a parcel somewhere. After that, I shall leave the rest of the day in the hands of my coffee and probably a toasty sandwich.

Meanwhile, I took this pic of two of the geese whilst messing around with my camera.

Have a great day all…
