Good Morning Wednesday, 17th December 2025

Good morning one and all, a warmer day than yesterday, I was tempted to wash my bedsheets but might leave that until tomorrow.

I noticed among some of the junk my kids leave at my house a box of Crackers left over from last year. I will take them with me on Christmas Day so I expect much joy and praise on the day. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Went shopping early for milk, frozen dinners, pizza and other minor items. I will do a big shop on the weekend to tide me over until after Christmas.

Not much else happening today I suspect - other than Christmas creeping closer so I will leave you with a video of my latest Christmas tree which I am once again not putting up. However you can enjoy the lights round the window which are now a year round feature.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

A blazingly hot 3C here, the wind chill takes it back below freezing.

Our hospital resident Doctors are on strike again, I have now lost all sympathy for them.

When I was working I was not allowed to strike because to do so would adversely affect Public Health and Public Safety.

It is about time we implemented that for Resident Doctors.

My House backs onto a combined Infant and Junior School, the front garden is near the rear entrance to the school, so very busy at times with Mums taking and collecting littlies.

The little darlings will be all dressed up and excited today and tomorrow, no uniforms, all dressed up in Santa Gear, School Plays in the early evenings all very noisy.

I love it, takes me back to when my kids were that age.

No point in being a grumpy old man, the littlies are our future.

Have a great day all and stay safe.

Is it just me but nowadays we are in the world of waiting. I have been waiting to hear from the DVLA for nearly 2 months. I am waiting for a new camera lens for at least 2 weeks. waiting for eye drops from the pharmacy. Waiting for the post which only arrives every other day if lucky. Waiting for online orders to arrive by late afternoon. Go to a shop and we will order it for you.
Where has the “yes we have/can do it now” attitude gone
It seems to me that no one is bothered now and could not care less.

Hello all,

@Bruce @swimfeeders @realspeed Reading all your posts made me smile.

Here in Thailand, by early afternoon it’s already feeling quite warm. A very different kind of “winter” compared to yours

I’ve been spending my day learning how to work online. I feel it’s important to use quiet moments in a meaningful way staying active, learning something new, and even creating a small income at the same time. It keeps the mind moving forward rather than standing still.

I’m also starting to plan a little New Year trip. Nothing rushed, just a slow drive up to the mountains, taking our time, and camping for one night. Simple plans, but sometimes those are the best ones.

Wishing you all a pleasant day, wherever you are.

Good morning! (just!)
Wet & windy

Had an early night, but still slept in … woke up feeling not too lively, but went to the supermarket anyway
I got cold just loading the car as like most supermarket car parks, it is bleak, windswept, and exposed

It’s Men’s Shed this afternoon but I’ll give it a miss … might even get under the duvet for a couple of hours

Good morning from a freezing cold New York. Its busy and crowded here, having had some issues with TSA and with the hotel room. Sat in Times Square sipping coffee whilst planning our day, involving loads of shopping.

Have a great day all…
