Good Morning Wednesday, 15th April 2026

Good morning happy forum folks. I have just returned home after my second cataract eye op, A friend picked me up and stayed for a cup of tea but has gone off home.

The second lens is supposed to be slightly short sighted so that I can read a book without glasses. At this moment it is patched so only my perfect new eye is available and I am having big trouble reading - though all should improve tomorrow when the patch comes off. Also filling cups, putting keys in keyholes without binocular vision is somewhat difficult.

The patch comes off in the morning before I return to see the specialist.

Anyway that is my tale, enjoy your day.

Take care.

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

A momentous day, I now have heating and hot water, the first time since the fire all those weeks ago.

There is a joint meeting here later with both sets of Surveyors, the Insurance Company and those acting for me, to agree a schedule of works to repair the Fire Damage to the structure and just as importantly a list of what is referred to as Uninsured Losses, which commonly come to several thousand pounds.

All good fun, at least it will keep my brain active.

Have a good day all.

Sorry to read you needed a cataractg operation Bruce. I was sent to a specialist health compnay and had 4/5 different eye tests. In the end My cataract was not bad enough that I need that operation.
I did have one for glaucoma though and had ā€œstintā€ inserted in one eye socket, so had an eye patch bandage over it for several days.

Still think of it this way. You can now only see one Kangaroo instead of two to ride

Good morning!
Mixed sun & cloud, but dry … fairly cool though

I’ve caught up on a couple of emails to friends … now thinking about a sort of brunch ready for the Men’s Shed this afternoon

Good to hear that you are getting back to normal Swim, these insurance companies are as slippery as eels and will find any excuse and smallprint to avoid paying out. Such a difference from they were touting for your business and offering you the world… :009:

Visited the cafe’ at M&S yesterday and can recommend the sausage sizzler…But was dismayed to find that all the tills in the gentlemen’s department had been replaced by self service machines.
The gentlemen’s urinals claim to be ā€˜waterless’ but stunk to high heaven, and the signs explaining about the saving to humanity exclaimed that it was made from waste material during the construction of the store…If that’s not virtue signaling I don’t know what is…
Flush yer bloody toilets M&S!
