Good Morning Wednesday, 14th May 2025

Good morning everybody, no need for a weather report, it’s Darwin in the dry season, same old.

It is my last day in Darwin so spent the morning with my son shopping, he needed oil and a container to change the oil in his car, I needed milk and bread to take with me tomorrow. Of course I also needed to fill up with fuel.

Checked the tyre pressures in my car and camper, a bit on the high side because it is 10° warmer than when they were last checked.

Still undecided on my way home but straight down the Stuart Highway to the Alice, Coober Pedy, Woomera and Broken Hill is firming up as favourite at the moment because the flooding in the channel country has not subsided enough.

This evening we are going out for a meal, I probably won’t see them again until they return to Sydney next year. I have always liked Darwin since I first came here decades ago, it is even smaller than Canberra with a population of about 150,000 (let’s face it, the entire population of the NT is only about a quarter million). You just have to get used to 32/3° temperatures every day.

Anyway, enjoy your day.

Take care…

Good morning!
Clear, sunny but a bit cool; still, it looks like it will warm up to become another nice day

I have a few errands to do in the town centre today

I’m working with a community centre to start a Men’s Shed, and will be taking posters & leaflets to a few places - the library, a community shop/cafe/advice centre, that sort of thing
Also doing my own errands & shopping

If you’re interested, have a look at www.menssheds.org.uk

Hi

Another chilly start to the day, sunny max 23c forecast.

A busy day for deliveries today, the first is already here.

A bit of the tropics, 3 reef fish., bred in Manchester.

It takes hours to acclimatise them.

I then have 4 blue legged hermit crabs and an orange lipped conch arriving with more corals due tomorrow.

I will get my carers to post some photos in a few days.

Have good day all.

It’s going to be another sunny and warm day. Going into town to buy some tracksuit bottoms and visit B&Q to choose the summer garden plants.

This will be after the usual Wednesday morning trial of having the Nephrostomy dressing changed.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all!

Lovely and sunny here today although not too hot - perfect!
I feel very motivated to have a good rummage around the cupboards etc and have a ruthless clear out, separate the wheat from the chaff.

The tackle box certainly needs a tidy up :open_mouth:

I’d actually forgotten I have this, lovely little Shimano and never been used in anger. I got a nice discount on this one for cash at a local tackle shop about ten years ago now.

Haven’t played with my rubber duck for yonks…

On that rather dubious note wishing you all a good day forum people :+1::sun_with_face:

Morning all. Spent most of yesterday giving my PC a good going over and doing some internal surgery to make it finally be able to run Windows 11. Looks like I’ll be spending most of the day clearing out all the bloatware and getting it up to how I want it, with all my usual progs (mainly all my camera stuff).

Meanwhile, I’ve just come back from my daily walk and had to replace my reading glasses which broke yesterday with my messing around. Looks like another hot and sunny day down here in Hampshire. May decide to leave my PC for another day and taking a wander along the seafront.

Take care all :grinning: :+1:

Good morning everyone, rest day today but not from the daily tasks of Tesco shopping and any half done jobs I didn’t finish due to lack of enthusiasm or the nice weather. Too good to be working when I could be walking, cycling or driving to the coast.
You are so very lucky @Graham living so close to the sea front, I’d never get anything done if the coast wasn’t at least an hour and a half drive away.
That fishing box takes me back @Chilliboot the lead weighs, floats and casting reel…
I haven’t fished since I met Mrs Fox, she’s the one that didn’t get away…
I’ve also spent some time messing about with my ‘rubber duck’ Chilli, it’s a 200 channel Uniden Bearcat scanner…And I listen to all the local hams.
:pig:
No! not those sort of hams… :009:

I recognise some of those places @Bruce, Coober Pedy is on the telly, is it Opal mining?
and Woomera, isn’t that the site of something to do with space and rocket launching?

You got it. Woomera was where they tested the British Blue Streak among other things It is still part of the Woomera Prohibited area though that area is much smaller than it used to be.

There still signs along the Stuart Highway warning you not to leave the road etc. It is now only about half the size of the UK in area.

BTW Olympic Dam is where they mine uranium

Thanks for that Bruce. It looks like a fair old drive back home…
:blue_car:

Which ever way I go it is about 4500km, it took 11 days to get here and will take about the same to return. Depending on where I stop each night.
