Obviously they would look a lot better if it was sunny and not raining (that concrete is not mine either it’s the footpath).
Apart from that my day has been trying to stay dry while still getting things done. It was warm overnight only got down to 15° but the maximum today was only 19° so not much change there.
Have a lovely day, it is all downhill and plain sailing now to the weekend. Take care
Good morning - How did the specialist appointment go Bruce?
There has been overnight rain here. Stopped now but skies are grey. We are seeing some friends this morning. The idea was to go to a canal-side café and sit outside for a natter. Might have to think again about sitting outside.
Have a good day.
Edit: The meeting with friends has been put off until the Sun shines again.
Woke up this morning to the sound of a workman next door who must have been given a hammer for his birthday. still hot and sticky weather at the moment and my cold is still with me but not as bad. Only sneezing once every half hour most of the time.
Morning all – heavy rain overnight, grey skies and windy this morning – seems like summer is over for the time being
Hope the visit to the specialist went well Bruce
Glad you are on the road to recovery realspeed
Having returned my neighbours cake containers the other day she delivered another batch of cup cakes yesterday. So good – but so bad for the waistline!
I was just about to start cooking dinner last night (I eat early so this was around 5.00 pm) when I had a phone call from my neighbour. They were on their way to the theatre and had received a phone call advising them someone was about to arrive to work on their caravan – could I nip next door and let him have the keys. Decided not to start cooking until he had finished. He finally finished 1 ½ hours later, by which time I couldn’t be bothered to cook so ended up having a cheese toastie!!! Not good!
Off to a coffee morning at the local Methodist church this morning – hopefully there will be no singalong planned for today!
An extremely muggy day here with some slight drizzle. I asked Alexa for the weather forecast for today and she went on to give me the humidity reading too - 92%. That explains the reason for my hair curling and becoming unmanageable! I’m beginning to think that I should buy a hat which is quite radical for me because I never wear hats due to looking ridiculous in them.
The dog walk was good today, we went over the fields where it didn’t seem to be so humid. I have nothing much planned for today other than taking Annie dog up to stay with my friend for the afternoon because I am going to London on Saturday and my friend is looking after her; so this afternoon is a trial period because although Annie has visited my friend with me she has never stayed there on her own. My friend will bring her back later. I feel like I did when I took my sons for their first day at school - how mad is that!
There are no contractors in the house this morning, so I was able to run without having to watch the clock. It’s nice not to have to collapse on the driveway in a pool of exhaustion and perspiration just to meet the tile guys.
With a little bit of freedom, I am off to drop paintings off at the galleries, send off a gift or two, and meet friends for dinner later this evening. I never realized how much I leave the house until the great construction lockdown of 2024.
The chai is hot and so is the weather. I hope you all come up with some combination of hot and cold that makes your day a good one!
Mrs d00d had stash of £20 notes, and she tells me the shops don’t want them, so we took them to the bank. Bank, what bank? all the branches have closed down. Well most all of them, and google found one for us. So we ventured up there, they have a machine, you throw the notes in, no paperwork required, it swiftly closes nearly taking you hand off, counts them and tells you how much. Nothing complicated really just a first for me.
Then we found a Lidl so bought four packs of our favourite coffee.
Sorry for being late with my post, but the one I wrote this morning has gone away to be approved…I must have mentioned something bad…
Anyway, lunch comprised of a Blue Chilean chicken egg, apparently according to my daughter and the lady shopper we met perusing the eggs in Tesco this morning, they come from happy hens…
Happened to me two days ago Foxy, not the egg on toast but my post here on Bruce’s thread took five hours to get approved. Mind boggled imagining bots discussing what the glorious 12th means and why I wanted to shoot a grouse. Perhaps Alexa was playing innocent.
