It actually rained last night, probably for all of two minutes because there was 0.5mm in my gauge this morning, however it is supposed to rain this arvo, I really hope it does because the ground is as dry as anything. At least 10mm would be good but more is welcome, a thunderstorm is even possible…
It looks like T shirt and shorts weather has settled in with temperatures settling down in the mid 20s.
The dog and I had a nice walk this morning, I took my umbrella but it didn’t rain at all.
Later the replica of Kingsford Smith’s plane, Southern Cross flew over a couple of times but I was far too slow to get a picture. I was a project started in SA but they ran out of money and HARs ended up with the incomplete plane. It has been finished since last year and flies occasionally. I don’t know what the occasion was or if it was just a test flight.
I haven’t been posting on here for a few days because after I recovered from my illness I spent a while cleaning, tidying, shopping and generally clearing the decks ready for action again! …
…then I found it was all a bit of an anti climax and I seemed to just sit around wondering what to do next-- but here I am again!
Shopping this morning
Lunch at a local community centre
Doctor’s appointment this afternoon
Surprisingly he seems completely unfazed by the thunder and lightning in fact he just came into the house slightly damp (and he does hate rain) because he went out to investigate the noise.
Morning all – another sunny start to the day, although cloud forecast for later
The sunshine didn’t last long yesterday either – I got the sheets on the line, the sun disappeared and it was overcast for the rest of the day!
Still trying to find a cleaner – found one who had good reviews, we had a “conversation” online and everything seemed set, she said the day she was available and I said the afternoons of that day would suit me – she then said she doesn’t come at a specific time as she likes to keep her hours flexible! Obviously thinks I would be happy to stay home all day waiting for her to decide to turn up – sorry I have something called a life!
Nothing much planned for today – some grocery shopping and some housework, although Wednesday is the day my neighbour usually drops in with homemade cupcakes!!
Good Morning Everyone…
The party went well last night, after a banquet of half a pizza (Mrs Foxes half is in the freezer) mashed potato and assorted frozen vegetables I donned my party gear and settled down to an old episode of ‘Heartbeat’ with a strong mug of Yorkshire tea which was followed by an apple and yet another old episode of ‘Midsomer Murders’ Gripping!
The night was finished off at 10:00pm with an oki koki into the bedroom…That’s the last thing I remember…
No hangover this morning but a rest day after all the excitement last night. I made my way to Tesco with my shopping list Mrs Fox had assembled on Monday and then fought my way through thousands of kids and 4x4’s dropping them off at the local school on my way to M&S for tonight’s dinner. I’ve also surprised Mrs Fox with some proper Scottish Trout for her dinner on Friday…Wheeeel! You’ve got to make an effort when the missus has been away for a few days.
I hope she’s back soon cos’ the sink is full of pots and I’ve run out of underpants…
Good gray morning from Florida! (So much for this being “The Sunshine State” .
Everything, aside from finding housekeeping, seems to be going well in the forum world this morning. Good to read.
The pedal of activity is about to be pressed down in anticipation of Capt. SM retiring later this week. Returning from our honeymoon almost 39 years ago, the luggage was still in the foyer when the phone rang . It was the navy ordering him to report to flight training the next week, and I have barely seen him since!
This retirement thing should be interesting… . How do I break it to him that I’m not going to be his First Officer ?
Anyhow, I’m awash in preparations for the family to travel and celebrate with him this upcoming weekend. Meantime, the couch potatoes (dogs) have submitted a collective complaint to management about having to stay in a kennel while we are away.
That’s brilliant news Surfermom, I hope we haven’t lost one of the most interesting and intelligent mainstays of the forum to a dashing and attractive aviator…
As you were…
See, now you’ve gone and hit the bottle too hard with Mrs. OGF away, @OGF; it’s clouding your judgement . But what’s this? A dashing aviator coming my way? That puts a spin on the whole situation… . My number is…
Thank you, dear friend. I am not going anywhere. .
Bruce…Bruce (leaning in and whispering), is “Good luck” code for “Get marriage counseling”?
