Good morning all - the weather is warm but sunny with a few clouds, a nice change after the last few days, The forecast was for 26° but it is already 27°. No rain yesterday so possibly the same today.
Got my grass mowed late yesterday arvo - was pleased about that and got through the whole day without eating (I try to do that at least once a week)
Out early this morning on my walk but since then have done little… Oh, I cleaned the bathroom and the toilet, just waiting for the tiles to dry before putting the mats back down.
Will probably sit outside and read my book or even find something to do in the garage for the rest of the day, no other plans.
Morning all – guess what - yes another cold, grey and overcast day – can’t wait for Spring to arrive!
My lovely neighbour dropped in yesterday with another cake – yes my waistline is expanding but they are too good to turn down!
Went to the hairdresser yesterday, anyone else notice that when you have used the same hairdresser for a while they get complacent and don’t really take as much care as when you first see them? There is another local hairdresser who I have heard good things about so I think my next appointment with be with her!
Called into the local pharmacist to see if they could recommend something for my blocked nose and ears following the flu I had 4 weeks ago – spoke to the pharmacist who asked a few questions and then recommended a nasal spray – easier to see him than to see my doctor!
Today I am having lunch with two of my sisters in law – it will be nice to catch up with them
I had a phone call yesterday asking me why I had missed my Nurse appointment, I was a little annoyed at that ,seeing as I had sat waiting for the Phone Call .
Well I was given a face to face appointment , but they failed to send a confirmation text , so is this going to head the wrong way ,
Without the confirmation text , I have no proof of the appointment for next week .
I went to town yesterday and bought a Hand Blender for making smooth Soups .So I will give that a try today ,
Ive bought several items of clothing online today, and shall collect them Friday …
Today I have a Argos delivery , which will arrive anytime up to 9pm , a little late but I was not prepared to get up early for a delivery .
@SheilaP Im completely over the nasty bug I had over my Birthday , spoilt that , but Im making up for it .
Hope you have some relief with the nasal spray , my son got that on the advice of his Pharmacist, that along with a nasal bath first cleared his sinuses…
Enjoy your lunch out .
@macywack …Plan B sounds the way to go , plain and simple !.
@Bruce … enjoy your book , you have plenty to get through …
Good Morning from Fox Towers…
As my wipers were scooping water off the windscreen on my way to Tesco this morning, Mr Hudson’s (our local BBC weatherman) words were ringing in my ears…‘Cloudy but no rain in the forecast for tomorrow’…
It’s a good job it’s a rest day.
I shall write a strongly worded letter to the BBC…
And why are there so many adverts for the NHS on telly just lately?
When they seem to do everything in their power to dissuade you from going to see your doctor and go see your pharmacist. It’s not like you have much choice when you need the NHS but the waiting lists are extensive, so why advertise. It’s like selling seats in the theatre when it’s already full…
Good heavens Bruce, how can you not eat for a whole day…?..
I get so grumpy if I don’t eat something at least every four hours…
Good afternoon everyone, another bright, sunny day today after a misty start, but even with all this sunshine, you can still feel the very cold humid air. That’s a lovely sunny picture @OldGreyFox, by the way, is that BBC weatherman a descendant of Michael Fish? His reputation took a turning for the worse when he underestimated the 1987 storm!
I’m back from a run where there’s a decent amount of sun and breezes - a runner’s favorite combination.
This is another blissful day at home. I’m painting the primary bathroom today, which requires very tall ladders and enough painting tape to cover the Golden Gate Bridge. It is an oddly satisfying task that is in the category of “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
@OldGreyFox the Towers are looking inviting and neat neat as a pin - as ever. I am always fascinated by the homes in other places. The only thing that gives yours as not being in the U.S. is the attractive brick wall around your driveway. I also like the transom-like windows that go to up to the eaves. Our state planning committee just prohibited transoms and increased the distance between the eaves and the top of windows in new buildings, in an effort to make them less hurricane prone. Pretty soon, they are going to reduce our windows to peep holes. Anyhow, your castle is a fine one and apparently now wired for fun.
Other than that, I promised to co-read with my daughter on the American colonies. She is still rebuilding her vocabulary, so it’s a good mix of history and English coaching. I’m very happy that colleges are requiring history and/or civics for science degrees.
I hope you all enjoy the fruits of your cutting, whether it is grass or hair, and that the rest of you have a good time executing the day, whether it’s plan A or plan B…or C!
Two Hours of my dedicated House cleaner.
Has made this “Man Cave”. Pristine. And eligible for Michelin 5 Bisco’s. All the way 2. “Where did I put THAT”.
He was right though, you can’t get hurricanes in, or near, the UK, however you can get very strong winds.
From memory you need at least 26° sea temperature to provide the energy a hurricane needs.
BTW Cyclone Zelia the first cyclone to make landfall for this season is about to hit the WA coast. It’s a Cat 5 cyclone according to yesterday’s weather forecast, lets hope it doesn’t score a direct hit on a town.
