It is one of those places were you always buy something else, so I bought 20 litre bucket, a tape measure and some cable ties while I was there. Ho Hum…
Enjoy your Wednesday, I heard the UK is lovely and warm, I am very jealous.
It’s going to hit 34 degrees in West Sussex today - hence the early stroll!
We nipped down to The Ifield Mill Pond, my son wanted to pick some more wild blackberries for crumble
I was content to find shade and contemplate the view, kind of relaxing
It reminded me that I need to renew my fishing permits in readiness for Autumn. I need two, one generic permit from The Environment Agency and a second from the local angling club, not cheap, this thought isn’t entirely relaxing
Back to the matter in hand, blackberry season is nearly over, so early too!
Somewhat scraggy, no doubt the unusually dry, hot weather is responsible. Some are even ripening already. I don’t anticipate rich pickings foraging this Autumn!
Im currently on a cruise ship in a small town of Isafjordur, which on the north west coast of Iceland, which (by a staggering coincidence) happens to be in the path of a total eclipse later today, unlike the partial eclipse back home.
Armed with solar filters for my camera, just one tiny problem- the weather is appaling and there is a good chance we’ll not get to see anything.. However the cruise ship is sailing early to get as far offshore as possible in the hope we can find a break in the weather.
Just been nudging 30ºC and quite bearable, I’ve know it hotter and there’s still not a hosepipe ban from Yorkshire Water, so the lawn still looks decent…
Temperature is around 27 at the moment and expected to reach low 30’s a bit later - not good for me. Give me plenty of sunshine, but please turn the heat down a bit!
Waiting for a plumber - they’re like gold dust here just now as they all seem to go on holiday in August - i guess it’s a quiet time for them anyway, with the kids being off school.
Hoping for a new kitchen (fingers crossed) next year, meanwhile have to keep the one i have from crumbling around me for the time being.
