Good morning everybody, It’s a warm day in the low 30s but a southerly change and perhaps some rain is due later. Desperately need some rain have had only 70mm in the last 3 months, my new rain gauge has only collected rain once!
I had to go out to the supermarket for milk, bananas and the like early but otherwise have been fiddling about in the garden, mainly moving potted plants around and repotting some of them.
Am trying to watch 2 episodes of Parenthood each day before it disappears from Netflix on the weekend. I am never going to be able to see it all
My kids have been ringing me over the last few days for a chat, especially the youngest who is in Melbourne for a week training with the quarantine service (he knows no one there).
Still not clear what I am doing to Christmas, I have had one invitation for Christmas day.
You are welcome to some of my local rain Bruce, currently 12C, heavy rain and 41mph wind…
I don’t have a rain gauge as such, just look out of the window and see how deep the puddles in the garden are at this time of year.
Shrewsbury has been in the news again with the road alterations and the chaos they are causing.
The buses are no longer trying to use the new floating bus stop having decided that it is too dangerous to use, not being wide enough for a buggy, wheelchair or a Mum with kids and shopping and being stuck in the middle of the main access road outside the railway station.
The Council have admitted that it is below the legal minimum size but are keeping it because it’s expensive to put it right.
One local brewery has a new beer on sale called Panic at the Bus Stop, it is selling well.
Still bed bound but with a bit of luck I am hoping to get about a little in a week.
I’m going into town soon for a bit of shopping and a couple of other errands
I’ve promised myself that I’ll stay out of the pub – we’ll see how my willpower stands up
Just managed to get back from my walk before the storm front hits, and to check up on the lonely swan in the waterway, but forgot to take my bag of feed as I wanted to get back before the weather opens up.
Yesterday was a bit of a disaster - my wife’s car died. She has been getting a few fleeting alarms popping up for a few days, but yesterday, turned the key and zip. My meter told me her battery had completely died and refused to take a charge. Call out to breakdown man, new battery and off it goes, but is getting random alarms coming up as it seems the computer has scrambled itself and cannot be reset without a specialist widget. As the thing is under warranty (but the battery isn’t covered) she’s off to get it looked at on Friday, so I’ve been promoted to chauffeur in the meantime. Had to treat the wife to have her eyes and hair done as compensation to cheer her up.
Meanwhile, decorations are finally up and done and start some serious work on packing for our trip to New York next week.
Morning Everyone…
Rain of biblical proportions and wind like the roaring forties this morning.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go out in it because Jack the Boiler asked if he could come and service the boiler at 8:00 am…Apparently they are very busy at this time of year and he managed to squeeze me in…
Mrs Fox has got writers cramp from writing all the Christmas cards (or something)…She has many friends…

Don’t talk to me about traffic Swimmy, Doncaster is a disaster area just lately with road wuks everywhere, with temporary lights in abundance and nobody doing any work at any of them… Mind you, I don’t blame them in this weather…
Saturday’s Christmas lunch was nice, but not sure about the Yorkshire puddings…
