Good Morning - Tuesday 8th, February

Good Morning everyone.

Dark and damp here just now - but not so cold.

Just had one of my favourite breakfasts - souffle omelette with cheese, tomato, and onion - cooked in best Irish butter! Yummy. Am ready for anything the day might throw at me now!

Have fun - stay safe.

Good morning Tabby and all to follow later. Windy here again but milder this morning with no frost, looks like being a nice day.

We are off into town later for Rosemary’s eye test, it’s been a while since we were there so we’ll probably have a walk around the market afterwards.

Have a pleasant day everyone

Hi

Good Morning All.

ST, I envy your breakfast, cheese and butter are sadly no longer part of my life.

A busy day today, Paula is here and she does not take prisoners, another 10 boxes of stuff to be sorted, after the water change in the fish tank.

Have a good day all.

Good morning everybody

Still busy around the house and getting thoroughly fed up with it all now. I’m sure it’ll all be worth it though…:grimacing:

Have a lovely day everyone

Morning all.

I bought a curtain yesterday to put up in the doorway between my back room and the kitchen, as the latter has two air bricks behind the washing machine and makes that whole area very cold, so I want to contain the draughts a bit. I bought a pair of hooks but they need to be screwed into the doorframe. Guess I will need to fire up a powered screwdriver…

Unless I can find some long nails to tap into top of the frame to place the rod behind.

Warm and sunny at last, got some washing done and dried, went for a walk late this arvo when it cooled down a bit.

Packing for a trip to Canberra tomorrow,

Enjoy your day

Good morning everybody.

It seems like a bright day here at the moment.

I think we’ll clear all the plantpots & other stuff from behind the greenhouse in readiness for my new garden storage shelter to be erected. I had originally ordered it to house the mobility scooter but we decided it would be too much of a struggle getting it in & out sideways so we’ve got a weatherproof cover for the scooter instead. I am looking forward to having extra garden storage - our shed is only small…

We managed to take the scooter a ride out yesterday. Tony seemed to take to it ok. I started out riding it but it wasn’t long before he wanted to get on it. This was just what I’d hoped would happen. He didn’t want it but he likes it now. I’m glad I insisted.

At 3.00 we’re meeting our autistic grandson Josh from school.
I can’t wait to get him home - I’ve bought him a lovely big dinosaur to add to his animal collection. It has moving jaws so he will have fun making it bite his smaller animals.

At 6.00pm we’re taking Josh to meet Ady & Paula at the pub for our usual Tuesday family meal.

Have a good day everybody…

A Not Very Good Morning to you all!

I felt tired & achy last night, so went to bed early, about 9-30. I slept well enough, and was warm, but this morning I feel fairly miserable - a bit cold, shivery, sneezy, & bleary
Not really a cold, just enough to feel miserable

I stocked up with food for Christmas and the winter, and over the past few days I had been running that down & using up any odds & ends, and some food from my freezer
So now I have completely run out of fresh food including milk

I had planned on going shopping today, to a supermarket for a big shop, and to the local shops which include a proper greengrocers, but that looks unlikely now

The weather doesn’t help either, it’s cold, raining & windy, as it has been more or less continually since Thursday or Friday

But I do need to buy food, so I’ll see how I feel later and have a quick visit - drive - to the supermarket to buy just enough for the next day or two; hopefully I’ll be better by them
And much as I don’t really want to, I suspect that most of the stuff will be easy - ready meals, simple frozen food, and stuff for sandwiches - at least I don’t intend buying ready made sandwiches

It is the weekly Tai Chi session this morning, but I’ll give that a miss; and doing anything useful in the way of hobbies is unlikely
However I do have a couple of part read books, so I think I’ll go back to bed with those and a mug of tea for a while

Sorry to be miserable and moan on; like many other people I’ll be glad when winter is over

Morning everyone, light cloud here today, but it is still relatively bright, so I am hopeful of an improvement later!

Tuesday, oh I don’t like Tuesdays. The afternoon is so busy - go to feed daughter’s dog at 1.00 and take her for a walk, back home for a bit then pick daughter up from school at 3.00 so we can dash to granddaughter’s school to collect her at 3.15. Then back to her house, prepare dinner, then out again at 4.30 for granddaughter’s swimming lesson. Back to hers just before 6.00 where I help cook and dish up their dinner while daughter does packed lunch for tomorrow, and takes dog for a walk. Then back home to cook our dinner. I know I don’t have to do all her dinner prep, but it’s just something I offered to do to help out when she first booked the swimming lessons, because it’s just such a rush to fit everything in when you’re a single parent.

So I’m going to have a lazy morning to compensate :joy:

@carol so pleased to see you’re making progress with your grandson. Hope you have a good time with him today.

@zuludog I do hope you feel better as the day goes on. Have you thought of trying a co-op delivery? They were advertising same day deliveries back along, don’t know whether they still are.

Hope you all enjoy your day whatever your plans

Expecting my meds today, also an important phone call.

Good Morning all.
Beautiful bright sunny day here so far. Endless blue sky. Luv it.

Just been on the phone to my internet supplier and managed to get a small reduction on prices. Every bit helps ey.

I’ve also bave bathed my Liffey this morning, she is almost dry, so will clip her later today. I keep saying I’ll do it, but must make an effort to get her done today. Then a quick trip out to the post office.

I’ve got three African Violet cuttings I want to pot up too, now I’ve bought the new compost.
Then Jacket potato for lunch, with cheese. Yummy.

Enjoy your day folks.

Good morning from Foxy’s world… :039:
Sorry to hear that you are feeling under the weather Zuludog, if you lived a bit nearer (this side of the Pennines) I would go and do some shopping for you…Try a hot lemon or some paracetamol to help you go out for supplies…Good luck…

It’s a bit blustery and overcast here but I’m off for my 5 miler, I’ll try and make it a quick one.
I set off for a 3 miler yesterday but ended up on my five mile route instead. You just can’t keep a good man down can you…Mrs Fox asks me… " Where do I find a good man?"
So Unnecessary!

Good morning everyone :slightly_smiling_face: a lovely day here very springlike and it is good to see snowdrops and crocus flowering.
I have lots of pink Hellebores ready to flower, they were covered in leaves with blackspot which I have removed and they look better for it.

I spent the morning finishing tidying Chloe, after lunch we will go across the fields. Then I need to check the cupboards before doing the Waitrose order,
Enjoy your day

Well, I’ve had a couple of mugs of hot sweet tea with a splash of whisky in them, and a couple of hours under the duvet, and I feel slightly - only slightly, mind you - better; and I can think a bit better

I always keep a fair amount of food in, plus I have the extra that I bought for winter - ie for this very possibility
I’ve had a look around the kitchen, and although there is no fresh food I can manage passably well -
Cans of soup, oatcakes, frozen strawberries & raspberries; biscuits, frozen fish, veg, & stir fry veg mix.
A couple of months ago I made a big batch of stew and put it in the freezer, in single serving plastic bags, and I’ve found the last one of those
I have plenty of tea & coffee, and have made up some dried milk
So I’m sure I’ll manage

Nothing on daytime TV, and I don’t feel up to proper hobby work, but there is something I can usefully do - about a month ago I bought a bargain bag of offcuts of foam backed abrasive sheets & sanding blocks, so I’ll have a pick through those and get them into some sort of order - with plenty of breaks for mugs of tea & whisky.

And a PS - on the main road, only about 2 minutes walk away there are several kebab, pizza, burger, and similar greasy takeaways, but I’m not that desperate

Good morning everyone. It’s -1° and a high of 10°. Hope everyone has a great day. I am finalizing all preparation for my 3 month holiday. I have everything in storage now except an air mattress and my work desk and a recliner. Everything is packed and I am waiting on one more item to arrive. March 1st can’t get here quick enough. Having vehicle maintenance done today. goodmorning_66

Not a bad morning weather-wise this morning so we decided to drive to The Range for a look around (we haven’t been to a Range for many years). What a mistake to make IMO it’s so full of tat - like a B&M on steroids. I told V that if she wanted to go again, I’d stay in the car and listen to the radio.
