Just back from a 4 x mile walk along the river bank - very dark and cold. Need to be on the other side of a stack of toast and a pot of tea!
There’s a cauldron of leeks, onions, garlic and potatoes simmering - will make them into soup when cooked/cooled, and I have ‘butterflied’ a handful of Tiger Prawns and made a tempura batter ready for tonights dinner. Will add a katsu sauce later.
Will spend the rest of the morning wrapping up Christmas gifts and waiting for that nice Mr Amazon to deliver a parcel. Have a fun day - stay safe.
Funny day, lovely and warm 27’, bright and sunny this morning so I was out and about getting shopping done, picking up mail from my PO Box, filling prescriptions etc.
Late this arvo the grey sky rolled in and there was an hour of thunder and fireworks with a little bit of rain. Now it is just cloudy
Morning ST, Minx and all who follow, wet and windy here today. Off up to my daughter’s in a bit for another day of looking after granddaughter and doing schoolwork with her that has been set by her teacher. Great fun! We’re studying the Great Fire of London together, and for maths we’re doing subtractions where one has to be borrowed from the 10s column. Very different teaching methods today, so I’m following the correct guidance. She loves maths, so it’s not really stretching her at all. Today there will be reading as well (missed that out yesterday )
Have a good day everyone
ETA: And Bruce! You must have sneaked in while I was still typing
Tony & I are gong to visit his sister this morning.
She will be on baby sitting duties with her baby granddaughter so it will be lovely to see baby Belle.
We’ve got the chiropodist coming to the house this afternoon. In between time I’ll be turning cupboards out & generally sorting & cleaning.
Good morning from ‘out in the rural sticks’ to you all.
A dry, cold and frosty start with rain and strong winds is forecast, not nice. Maximum temperature 6ºC.
Nothing planned other than a telephone consultation with my GP, that might prove rather trying in more ways than one when mobile reception is so bad at home.
Enjoy your day everybody, whatever you may be doing.
Good morning everyone wild wet and cold.
I have been chatting to my grandaughter who is working her way through 10 days quarantine but feeling well thank goodness and getting as many jobs done as I can in case the power goes off.
So hair washed, kitchen floor washes, lunch prepared some cleaning to do next.
Not just one of the spokes the whole lot. very annoying as i now have to replace 2 fittings so they match. Sue ordered new ones last night, but I did take this one down this morning to check there was power to it and yes there was. My guess is the transformer on the fitting wasn’t transforming and impossible to get another let alone fit as it is a sealed unit inside that base.
So that will be my next job.
Oh granddaughters arrived fairly late yesterday evening and absolutely tired out. It is a 9 hour flight and time change as well
Cold and Brrrr here. Been to Asda and something has kept niggling me ever since; no idea what took perishable shopping in then before the rain wind/hail storm thought take Gert out just got back from taking her out and though tea and toast and Bingo have left the toaster in Asda used the self scan handset and went for comfort, ariel, kitchen rolls etc bulky stuff and a toaster took toaster out of trolley in ariel aisle and have not put it back in got to go up as cannot get through on the phone.
I have a grill on the cooker but keep forgetting the toast so burnt more in the last week since toaster went to toaster heaven than ever
