Good Morning Tuesday, 6th August 2024

Good morning to you all on this lovely tin foil Tuesday.

I have little to report today, I picked up some fake Chinese Deutsch connectors from my PO box that I hope to use with that new battery charger - basically so I can attach it to any of my many batteries easily - but while I was at the mall also did a bit of shopping, even remembered to buy some Bin-die for the coming spring (kills clover and bindi’s).

Apart from that I have spent a bit of time talking to the events organiser at my local Leagues Club arranging my seniors’ club annual lunch and pottering about in my garage sorting out my tools and accessories. I need to get the fridge out of the car to be able to replace the aux battery when a child next visits.

Hope you will have a more exciting Tuesday but at least I am keeping busy (I think).

Enjoy your day, have a good one…

Morning all – more rain last night (I knew I shouldn’t have used that weed killer!) Sunny this morning but getting cooler – top temperature today 22c. Still looking on the bright side at least I don’t have to struggle with the watering can

Had a very lazy day yesterday – just didn’t have the energy or inclination to do anything although I did manage the trip to the shop for coffee (me without caffeine would be dangerous!) :icon_twisted:

Have to really get down to sorting out things to go to auction – I have finally decided which paintings will go and am halfway through sorting through all the brassware and various other bits of bric-a-brac.

Take care – hope everyone has a great day

Good morning everyone.

It’s raining today! That awful drizzly rain that wets everything through. I shouldn’t really complain because the garden needs the rain but I would much rather have a short sharp shower than this endless drizzle. Annie dog and I were thoroughly soaked by the end of our walk even though we both donned our rain macs. It is supposed to clear away by this afternoon and I think I can see a small chink of brightness coming through now.

My shopping has just been delivered - I tend to have a delivery every few weeks when I am stocking up on heavier items rather than go to the supermarket myself. The delivery man was very efficient, he brought the crates of shopping into my kitchen and unloaded them onto the table for me - he didn’t put the items away in my cupboards though!!

Nothing much planned for today - some housework and then I’ll start on one of my new books this afternoon.

Have a happy Tuesday everyone!

Good Morning from Foxy’s World… :041:
Very dark and overcast first thing with some overnight rain. The weatherman promised that it wouldn’t rain during my walk, so It was tee shirt and shorts. Turned out to be a good choice of clothing with the warm breeze and high humidity. A bit of excitement as I walked the first quarter mile along a very busy main road (I don’t like it, but it has to be done) A Yorkshire Water lorry was parked up the road with flashing lights. As I passed the small row of cottage the car park was flooded.

Cars and lorry’s were splashing through deep standing water…
It can be a bit nerve racking walking along here when great big Artic’s come trundling past at 40mph… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

It all became clear as I approached the Yorkshire Water lorry with the flashing lights. The water was pouring out of the ground from a burst water main…

Plenty of jogging after that, but I never caught that lady runner… :frowning_with_open_mouth:
Just round the bend I proceed down Moor Lane on the right, and away from the bustling road, the lane takes a nice quiet scenic route down to the canal and all tamaced, good for when the weather is bad. It is quite overgrown just lately though with nettles hanging over the path, waiting to sting the careless walker…

Mmmmm…not sure about taking advice from Marcus Raven…
Marcus Aurelius
He presided over many wars especially with ‘Troublesome Germans’
He removed the purity of silver Roman coins…Devaluation…
And there was plenty of persecution of christians during his tenure…
And didn’t handle the latest covid outbreak (the plague) very well, Five to ten million deaths?
Sounds like someone we used to know…

Good morning from the land of dodged bullets!

The hurricane passed safely east, so I can enjoy your afternoons vicariously under blue skies. I envy you that overcast running, @OGF. It’s Africa-hot here. No complaints though; I was up early enough to have only the morning birds for company.

@MargaretF, I have never had groceries delivered. It sounds like you have a good thing going!

Bruce, that is most generous of you to helping out with your seniors’ lunch. That kind of thing depends on someone stepping up, so I imagine the organizer is grateful.

Good luck with your sorting, @SheilaP, I am still in the midst of mine.

Safe Tuesday to you, too @ Raven.

As planned, the dogs and I hid in the “studio” corner of the house to stay out of the workers’ way, so I decided to do a still life… I really haven’t done one before, so I am still learning but it’s an enjoyable sort of self education trying to solve all these little problems… This layer has to dry to I can clean up lines (like the right side of the glass) and add another layer (leaves and grass). iPhones never do yellow properly. This photo makes the lemons look more like potatoes , but here you go:

I think I’ll run into town to take care of some banking and mailing.

Try not to get soaked and have an nice day puttering!

I go onto the supermarket website to order my groceries and then they are delivered on the day of my choice. There is a fee for having them delivered but it’s worth it for me when I need a big shop. When my husband was alive I had a delivery every week but as I buy much less now I do most of my food shopping by visiting the supermarket and then have just occasional deliveries.

You probably live in an area like me where, if you have to buy lemons, you’ve got no friends. There is still a couple left on my tree.

What! No Olympics Surfer?
